Gucci S/S 2010 : Natasha Poly & Ryan Kennedy by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Uninspiring campaign with an uninspiring model here.
Shoes look great though.

ETA: Even the shoes don't look that great when really looking.

This is SO great!
After a great collection,we have a gorgeus campaign,I love the perspective of each shot and how they focus on those dangerous shoes
Natasha is cool but I feel like yawn...it would be cool to see someone else for Gucci, but she can't deny she looks gorgeous here

I really had high hopes Snejana would be in this too, she MADE the cruise campaign :(

This looks gorgeous. A lot like Cruise campaign, but I don't mind since that one was amazing. I'm so disappointed by the absence of Snejana though. Natasha and her made such a good due in Cruise ad that I thought they'd repeat for SS.

so beautiful, natasha is gorgeous (but hey we all already knew that! :p)

It's just like the Cruise campaign which I don't like because this S/S collection was so visually strong in terms of colours and patterns on the dresses and you can barely see them here in this saturated bath of blue light...however they make a good, concise duo and I love that M&M are here instead of those two...

Um... no thanks :ninja:
I mean, yes, it's very Gucci. It's very summery (just like it should be) and it is certainly very well elaborated. But still... there's something off IMO.
Probably because I'm simply no Natasha-fan and the previous model choices + campaigns were a lot more "my cup of tea" but I also agree that it looks really similar to the Cruise ads. Something that I don't even mind that much. But IMO they could've done MUCH better.

I agree. These ads are amazing and showcase the collection beautifully, but it looks like they just borrowed from the cruise theme. They could have made this campaign a little more original.
Either way, it turned out great.

Natasha, what a surprise ;) Which I don't mind, of course. And I'm really glad M&M are back at Gucci, I'm always insanely attracted by their juicily coloured shots.

Sure it looks like the Cruise campaign but it also looks different enough to me not to mind the similar look too much. Love the colours, the perspectives, the poses. Natasha is workin' her thang and so are Mert & Marcus. Love it infinitely more than the F/W campaign. And sure it could have been more original but honestly, with the campaigns this season so far, I'll take whatever I can get and be happy with it.

looks way better than last years ad but it's identical to the cruise ad. I hope Snejana is in.:woot:

I love it! Very dramatic and at the same time fierce! But reminds me of Resort 2010 ad

I think the angles and perspectives they chose are the best thing about these shots. I actually really like the shot of Natasha in the white cutout dress, how the image is slanted slightly. It looks really good coupled with the intense blue of the backdrop and the unnatural gold of her skin.

But it's completely and 100% predictable M&M and Gucci. I'm not at all surprised by any of the choices made here; the outdoor location, the color, the shadow, the pinup poses. Nothing I haven't seen before.

I quite like it, its a very nice competent campaign, but nothing special and I was hoping that as they put all the Gucci favourites and more in the f/w campaign that there would be a new Gucci girl. I do really like the dramatic poses.

Looks like CGI rather than real models. But the perspective is interesting and it's Natasha:heart: There is a certain continuity from the cruise campaign, but imo this resembles too much of it

I agree with everyone's compliments about the campaign's interesting perspectives and display of the clothes and the whole Gucci aesthetic, but for me what makes this campaign a bit "off" is how I'm not sure it really captures the vibe of the actual collection. The actual collection had more of a "night life" feel for me. Granted, this is a summer campaign, so it makes sense in that regard that it's all bright and colorful, but I think some sort of darker element would have taken this campaign to the next level
