Hairy Arms - Waxing or Shaving?

wow i wish i read this earlier.... i shave my forearms :( dont tell me... i really really REALLY regret it now,but my hairs were just so,long and black and thick i just hated them!!! and the only thing i could think of at the time was shaving!!!! I really wish i didnt now,is there anyway i can quit the shaving and just bleach the hair or somethin?? if i stop shaving, would the hairs be just basically a mess?!? and would bleaching not help or what? please give me suggestions

i shave my arms,if i was to buy a hair bleaching kit, would i have to wait for the hair to grow back quite long first??i hate shaving i wish i never done it!!! would it grow back really long if i stopped shaving?? or would the bleaching kit make them unnoticeable?

i can only strongly recommend laser removal. in which case it would be best not to bleach em. you can still shave though until you've had it down, and after you've started.

I just got a full 'playboy' wax. Ouch, but not so much out that I wouldn't do it again...
I'd wax legs as it doesn;t hurt much but leave underarms and bikini line to laser :)
I was supposed to get laser a week ago but my boss short changed me by ALOT so it has to wait :(

Doesnt laser removal completely remove the hair?? like some people sed, arms without hair doesnt look right,i want to grow it back thats y i thought of bleaching. Also how much is laser?? i hears its dear and cus im 13 i dont have no money of my own! and my mum and dad wont spend it!

Yeah, it can be a bit costly. Prices can vary from city to city. I would think you could get forearms done, both, one session for about 60 quid. Depends really on your location.

It does completely remove the hair. But you can limit it to only a session or two sessions if you like - then bleach if it needs a bit of touch up. If you have a mix of dark hairs and lighter fuzzy hair, the laser would only remove the dark hair. So if you did it right you could avoid that hairless look.

But yeah, definitely a major purchase price wise.

you could bleach your arm hair laura, it's inexpensive and you can scrape what you've used on one arm and use it on the other. Use jolen. You don't need to wait for it to grow long coz ur not ripping it out, u can just bleach it when it starts to show and when the 'roots' come through, bleaching also is meant to make the hair softer and a bit thinner, dont overuse it though, it could irritate your arms...

^^ really? does it make hairs softer and thinner permanently or only as long as they're bleached?

60 quid?? damnnnn no,my parents wouldnt even pay a tenner!!! haha,i guess ill go for the bleaching,it sounds well good to me.Thanks anyway guys!! xx

well it supposedly just kinda thins them out i think, it's one of the things it says on the packet, I think with regular use it will make them thinner and softer on a longer term basis, I can only presume ^_^

Arm hair?

Does anyone shave their arm hair? I shave my upper arms, but I'm not sure if I should shave the lower part (elbow-hand) or not..it always grows back darker b/c of cutting if off at an angle. Is it normal to shave it or not!?

Don't shave, you will cut yourself, go to the chemist or any shop that has hair cream removal where you put it on for 10 minutes then wash it off and the hair comes off too for a silky skin appearence..:D

I bleach the hair in my arms with peroxide every month or so. They turn to a very pale blond so they become invisible. If your hair is too dark this won´t work because it would look weird, but if you´re pale and your hair is blondish-brownish...you could try it

If you shave the hairs will grow back thicker, darker and quicker :yuk: Waxing is the most efficient way of hiar removal in my eyes. Your hairs are suppose to be thinner and lighter over time if you wax. Or so i've heard.
So it is

Never shave your arms!
:ninja:

i would never shave my arm hairs...it's just weird. however, shaving DOESN'T make hair grow back thicker, EVER. it's just that when hair is shorter (i.e - when it's growing in) it looks thicker and darker. but it isn't. old wives tale :)

i waxed my arms once, and got ingrown hairs so bad that it looked like a pimply rash :yuk:
stick with shaving- i shave now, and you have to do it once a day to keep things neat, but its well worth it!

Just bleach...thats what i do if i want to diminish the appearance of it ...I'm dark haired...it looks good in the summer bleached because it looks more natural ... as if the suns done it

I think they look really nice bleached :) of course if you live in a sunny place you could let the sun do it for you ^_^

I've shaved it for years and have never had issues with it. Nor have I ever cut myself. I see that some of you think it looks "weird" not having arm hair, but I disagree. I'm a natural blonde, so my arm hair was invisible to begin with, so it's not like you can see a visible difference. I just prefer how smooth skin feels, as opposed to skin with hair. The hair wont grow out thicker or darker, and I shave two-three times a week. I'll probably get laser when I get around to it.
