it's been discussed a few times, specially on the threads that talk about successors to valentino, armani, karl, etc.

it sounds very interesting to me. because the chanel man doesnt really exist, so no one could tell him he is destroying it, making it too young, or whatever!

i also think it's a very clever way to introduce him to the house, which i wish he would finally take over, when one terrible (as in greatly TERRIBLE) day karl leaves us.

YET: hedi hasnt really proved his ability to do womenswear (besides doing his menswear in petite tailles ) so i think he might still need to grow a bit, expand his own "eventual" label, which will come sooner or later, no?

I just knew Karl love Hedi designs and I love the idea of Chanel Homme. It's just not fair to me that when I knew who he was, he left Dior. So, I really hope he came up with his own brand a.s.a.p

god knows how much karl loves him... there was a time when he used to wear NOTHING but dior homme! after all he lost all that weight just to fit in hedi's petite clothes!!!

Like all great designer, I think Hedi should create something that bears him name. Not Chanel Homme by Hedi Slimane but Hedi Slimane. Period!

Yes, I agree. I think it will have the same effect on the men's couture, if not greater than that when he first started Dior Homme.

if hedi does start his own label or work under chanel (which im not that keen on the idea...) i hope he brings back the sophistication he showed when he was at yves saint laurent and early dior homme. his clothes bear this easy coolness to them and that's why i like about his designs. no other men's wear designer i seen transfer that same coolness to the clothes. if he does women's wear, i do hope he transfer that coolness into women's wear as well. i would be crushed if he showed girls prancing down the runway in girly frocks and very chanel-esque clothes...

They are already looking for staff and interns. That's how I got the news. Everybody is talking about it in Paris but it's still " a secret " and we "are not supposed to tell anyone".

Hedi's legacy lives on. If I was him I would create my own path. He already has a huge base of customers who love his work. His jeans have become a classic and I sure hope that they won't be discontinued.
