What next, CHANEL Jeans? kaki? underwear?
Is anything sacred any more?
tricotineacetat said:agreed. some of these old couture houses are turning into something entirely different than what the houses' namesake once had in mind... I wouldn't mind people like Hedi Slimane doing menswear, but what for what reason under the Chanel rooftop? Just to get the clothing a couture-like context?
It's somewhat questionable that people only relate the old houses with the couture craft...it's also obscure how we will probably still remember these old houses in 50 years time, thanks to lucrative licensing and PR, whereas contemporary designers will probably fade into the nothingness...
Haha oh man, that would be quite a sight to say the least.rach2jlc said:Maybe we'd have to see Puma for Hedi Slimane, H-3 (Hedi Adidas), or "H" by Hedi diffusion line produced by Ittierre.

Seems he's having alot of fingers put into pretty much everything regarding design and artwork. Maybe he's taking year off or something to concentrate on his art (not clothing that is) I don't know. Who's taking the FW07 collection for dior on catwalk this summer? hedi?
tricotineacetat said:As long as he is under a luxury conglomerate's rooftop, production shouldn't be too much of a problem... he does have the financial power and authority that are necessary to start a business on your own... a lot of balenciaga, mcqueen and gucci is made in the same italian factories... probably except from some really complicated couture pieces... but they are never to be found in the shops, anyway.
Rigorous quality control and precise communication with the manufacturing partner are key when it comes to good production standards... with somebody as Hedi who is just fanatic about the fit of his clothes, I can't imagine them not being on the highest standard. People might disagree with me on that point, but the decline of quality in some pieces at Dior are not due to Hedi.
I already saw two nice shirts and a pair of pants hanging in Bruno's atelier last week... from what I can tell, beautiful, subtle detailing and a razor-sharp cut! Hopefully they'll make it in my size as well...!
As far as Nicolas Andreas is concerned, he had been with Hedi since the very beginning of Dior Homme and quit right after Strip to pursue a career on his own... his first collection had been shown in F/W 2004 as a film presentation... so no catwalk images.
