Haha no, I've agreed in my previous posts that it looks better with hips/***... just meant the angle looks funny. :p

Anyway, today I tried on the boyfriend jeans from Gap..regular rise, and really liked them. Something about the loose fit and high waist was a little 90s..in a good way..anyone tried them?

too little *** , too much *** , not good for high waists , just in the middle lol .... but jlo in general is getting old.....i prefer seeing normal people wearing trends as oppose to these celebrities (except kate moss....she is too cute) .....i would love to see someone in K jeans if they can post.....and tell me what you think of them.....my friend told me they are flying out of their oxford circus branch......just want to know what other people think of them .

yeah jlo never had style to me, maybe in a couple of her music videos which i thought was cute- but that was back in the days.
yeah, her *** will turn to mash potatoes soon.
anyway, if i had money and not afraid, i'd get the brazilian butt lift surgery that i saw on E. lol!
:ninja:

Wandie, I love yours!! See, the simple style with high-waisted pants/jeans is what I like best. And I still think it looks best to have hips with them :-p.

PS- is that Kim Gordon on your wall? How neat is that!!

thanks! and yes, that's kim gordon! :)

Hi Everyone! I've never posted a pic of myself on this site EVER and I'm quite mortified at doing so, but I really want to help anyone make a decision about high waisted jeans. OK, firstly let me explain my build - I'm 5ft 7" and a UK size 8 (don't know what that is in the US). I have what I'd describe as a boyish figure, meaning I have very slight hips. I also naturally have a long hip area, so these Topshop corset jeans only come up to my natural waist line, but they may be higher on other people. I don't suffer from flat bottom and I don't think these jeans make my bottom look any flatter than it is. Some may think they look silly on me, some may think they look OK, but maybe it'll help make up some minds? I can also say they are very comfortable to wear.

Indeed, they look really good on you Dizzydog.

Ah you see therein lies the trick of the high waist - I don't actually have a very defined waist at all - I'm pretty straight up and down and they give me curves, albeit slight ones. But I suppose then I can see the point that someone with curves already might feel theirs will be exaggerated? But thank you very much for the very kind words - it's quite hard posting a picture of oneself on this HUGE site without feeling intimidated!

dizzydog, i have to say they look pretty good on you, specially in the second pic, i think it looks more proportioned. Although i still have a problem with high waisted jeans or anything hight waisted. As well as really low cut jeans, it makes body proportions look odd, legs too short- legs too long, i dont know. Besides i cant imagine me wearing something like that, im not short 5'7, but i have a very defined hourglass shape, i can only imagine my hips look too wide. its kind of a tricky trend. i think itd look good with a coat or something longer on top to balance the body. but again, ill pass

you pull of those jeans well ,but im not a fan, they look very constricting to me. Anybody have photo in K jeans from topshop , it would be nice to see...

they do look good on you dizzydog, I personally love the first outfit! reminds me of what I wore today (except regular rise jeans, ha)

BRAND TO WATCH: DITTOS

dittos1wwd.jpg
In a season where colored denim and high-waisted jeans are all the rage, bringing back DITTOS- the iconic brand from the '70s is a no-brainer.

As reported in today's WWD, Daniella Clarke, designer for Frankie B jeans, has signed a license to bring back the DITTOs label. The brand was super popular in Southern Cali in the early '70s, and was one of the first must-have jeans labels. The brand basically disappeared, and even vintage DITTOs are extremely hard to find, The brand was known for its wide range of colors, and super slim, high waisted styles.
The new jeans, which will hit stores like Intermix, Henri Bendels, Lisa Kline and Tootsies on March 30, will have a slightly updated fit (the rise will be only 9 1/2" rather than the orignial 11") and will be available in slim, flare, and straight legs in a rainbow of colors.
The brand will wholesale from $75-$89. Clarke plans to offer a full lifestyle collection, not just denim and tees.
We can't wait!

those ads are so funny :p they obviously didn't care about having "long ***" in the 70s. still, the revival sounds exciting!

i sort of like them..........that high............but i guess a 9.5 inch rise is more appealing to the masses.......

well done on posting the pics!!! i actually bought these jeans yesterday. I tried them on about a week ago and was in two minds about this whole look but since then decided i really liked them so got them. They are seriously not as constrictive as some may think, someone posted a reply to one of my earlier postings about not being able to sit down in these jeans, thats not actually a problem :D I also bought a pair of Diesel high wasited straight leg jeans in NY at the weekend, not the corset style but more like 18th amendment ones so not as dramatic as these and i guess more a day time look.

I have them, in fact I'm wearing them right now.
I love them. They're quite 70s, which is a nice change from those horrible 80s fads flying about (I'm not a fan, sorry)
Don't have a picture but if you like I could look out the camera tomorrow.
They look very like the dittos, except not red and a slightly higher waist.
They fit me as well, topshop don't usually, it's for "ruler" shaped people but these jeans stay on without stopping me sitting down. When I do sit down it's a bit like being hugged, not constricting though.
