Yeah , with a not too wide leg , but wide yet rommy straight like 20 inch -22 inch leg rather than the 70s 25 inch standard, and with a waist which hits the natural waist ( like they are suppose ) to you have the eventual killing maching of the the low rise jeans ...mark my words ....also speaking of which, if you see the latest issue of cosmo. KATE MOSS , yes KATE MOSS is donning a pair of roomy high waisted pants .......and she has been sporting this look very very recently , I guess she was fed up of being copied in low rise skinnies so she moved on!!!! SO , fashion moves on and the next big thing is the high waisted boyfriend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! baby!!!

There's a waiting list for the Ghost ones that Kate wore in London - the trend machine has already started! I went to try them on, and unforuntatley they only had a size 30! They're £120, if you wanna wait around for them - they'll be getting tons in though coz they're from the A/W06 collection.

im a big fan of the high waist BUT only one condition , the leg is wide leg and straight, otherwise , if it tapers or skinny , it looks really really REALLY bad. On one post in the skinny jean thread, someone posted high waisted skinny jeans by acne or cheap monday omg!!! HIDEOUS. skinny jeans and boot cuts look best low rise , only a straight wide leg can carry off the the high waist properly. I bought some from H&M , they are awesome. Everyones wears boot cut or skinnies, I like to be ahead of the game.

Softie H&M has some - very highwaisted, slimfitting in a dark demin blue I tried a pair and they were a great fit... I didn't buy them because they weren't really what I was looking for (I want black and grey highwaisted pant..) They were 398,- danish kroner which is about 37£ or 50$ cheap cheap..

i'm not really excited about this trend in itself, more the prospect that when it's over jeans will be reverting back to regular, not low waists.

I agree with lovemyboots. I can't bring myself to like high waisted jeans. I love skirts and pants though! Maybe it's just because I hate "fashion" denim of any type. I'd love a pair of high waisted wide leg trousers though

Exactly! 1970s bell-bottom-esque is best. Tapered and high-waisted is just wrong.
