High Waisted Jeans #1

The Topshop ones had the stitching and beltrack and stuff (sorry, I don't sew, hence lack of terminology) like the Ghost jeans, but they were not skinny jeans. The leg was quite wide. They also had another pair of high waisted jeans that had a plain waistband/upper-portion, and had denim braces attached.

I don't know if Topshop still has them in stores.

I really liked the Ghost jeans. Susie bubble, you mentioned there was a wait list for them...how long do you think it would take? I've never waitlisted for something before.

^I would phone both Ghost stores to check whether they've had a new batch in..........but as with all 'Kate Moss' effects, expect the minor celebs to get in there first before all the rest of us normal people.

hhaha thats the point , my mom use to wear these type of jeans and she is 5'2 , she says they make you super tall, they create that illusion, I bought a pair from H&M , they have loads of high waisted straight wide legs . im 5'5 , they work wonders esp with heels.

i like them. i think they look fresh. but yes you need to find the right ones. and yes the vintage ones are gorgeous but they do make your bum long, or just more obvious in a way we aren't used to. i like them in a wide-straight leg the most. or a wide leg. they do make your legs go on forever. i often wear a vintage pair of calvins and i love them. but on off days i feel a bit self-conscious in them.

The only things that put me off this trend are the fact that you'd have to always tuck your top into your jeans which is a bit high maintenance and also the whole 'long bum' thing. High waisted is a refreshing chnage from low waisted but not sure if it will really catch on in the jeans world.

you know its funny ,because 4 years back , i remember drainpipe jeans ie skinnies wouldnt catch on ..and lo behold they did, the thing with fashion is , never say never

Softie Barneys in NY carry superfine jeans, their model named 'MAC' and 'Jamie' are high waisted :flower:

Acne I know have also jeans with high waist.

acne jeans , i tried them ,the are like those 70s jordache jeans, you have to be super model for those , skinny and high waisted , is a daunting feat to pull off (lucky if you can), with a straight wide leg you can get a way with it, its more flexible because of the leg . Also people were talking about the long *** , i dont know , i find it sophisticated , it gives it a shape, with low rise your *** is hanging out side to side with your butt crack for the whole world to see. I like the dressiness of this jean , in the your covered yet sexy at the same time. its just a new look for the eye , ive been wearing low rise for 8 years im fed up at the same time i dont want to go back to tapered and high waisted ( think thelma and louise 1991) . I like the way designers have come out with a new way to do high waisted with the straigter wide leg.

Are there high-waisted jeans for guys? The only high-waisted jeans I can think of are for super nerds.

There's a girl in my school and she's quite tall (5'8" maybe) and she always wears flat shoes and tries to look shorter. But one day she just thought "Eff it! I'm going to dress tall today!" and she came in with high-heels and a blac, super high-waisted skirt with a white blouse and looked *absolutely* FANTASTIC! She appeared like a foot taller and two sizes slimmer. Amazing. Ever since that (and seeing Victoria Beckham looking great in a high-waisted skirt) I've been waiting for girls to embrace high-waists. Haha.

High waisted jeans = cameltoe* I don't know why, but the high waisted skinny jean really accentuates it. And as for men wearing high waisted jeans...unless you want to look like your choking the chicken I would steer clear! High waisted pants and skirts are fab tho:cool:

*Sorry to be crude, don't mean to offend anyone.

^wow, that is sooo 70s!! ^_^

I'm not a big fan of this trend though. Like someone mentioned, high waisted jeans make your butt look long

I prefer them low (but then again, not too low).

I actually have a pair of jeans with a higher waist than usual... but the design doesn't make my butt look long hehe, the pockets are low... but it irritates me a bit, because I can't really wear belts and it makes volume under some shirts. Well, I guess I'd prefer it if the waist was a bit lower

i seem to have an unusually long torso so when i wear jeans that others would call "high waisted" they fit almost like a low rise... because of my mutant torso i am of the opinion that whomever invented low rise jeans (which seems to be ALL jeans now) should be vigourously scolded...i could never part with my high waisted denim ^_^

they're definitely sexy, but look best if it's a really rinsed, tailored denim. more of a trouser-like pair of jeans, not regular jeans. zara has some without back pockets and mock sailor buttons on the front..they were cute, but the fit was meh.
