haha ^^ rosemary went to FIS. i used to be friends with her brother who's my age and she totally fits the model stereotype of being a stupid bimbo and i can attest to this cause i've met her a few times
her brother nick is sooo tall. but rosemary isn't that tall.... she dropped out of school after gcses and in an interview talked about how she doesn't wanna be a model forever and she wants to be a lawyer. what!! HOW?? you didn't even finish secondary school properly.

international school kids who become models really bother me. like elaine lee.... there's another one. she's like 5'6" or something and hideous. the only tolerable one is Cathy Chui who i went to school with. she was in the year above but we were in the same house so we did see each other quite a bit. she's intelligent cause she's at LSE now and got straight A's for her GCSEs... even though she's short, i think shes quite pretty. her boyfriend is soo rich.. the son of the dude who owns Henderson group!

Once upon a time rosemary was asking my dad if he would sponser her when dad's buddy jumps in the convo as his wife isn't present He's kind of an old looking guy and his daughter, who accompanied him was very very young. rosemary puts on the charm, because obviously she needs someone to sponsor her to buy some clothes. poor girl, shes almost naked! so she kinda cocks her head to the side, throws her hair back (soo cliche!) and says, looking at buddy's daughter "your wife is such a beautiful lady". nice work darling!

golden- I agree with you completely on this..I've read in other threads on how asian models need to be sharp and angular to be edgy, and that the usual 'cutesy' models are too boring/generic

soft and willowy sets them apart.. which may be why asian girls are always mistaken to be younger. but why are hk models not breaking onto the int'l scene? I mean, once they learn to walk and pose...

I dont know, im asian myself but I dont find anything special about all the HK models. Theyre so boring basically. And when theyre made up to look "edgy" instead of cute, they look like theyre trying too hard, they always seem to have "one look" ....i also hate that they always look so fake, and never natural, the way the international asian models tend to be.

ai and hye park's faces never look natural to me.. feels like they're constipated

but i guess it'll be hard to see a true hk model become int'l anytime soon. every hk entertainment industry is too heavily regulated, only one or two moguls are in charge of the show.. basically you just sleep with the right guy or you have connections to the mogul. hence, 'one look'..and not just the ent industry..that is hk's biggest problem yet.. far too commercialised.

china has a bigger chance of producing a int'l model until the day hk finally breaks free from being the middleman 'portal to china'

Yes! I agree with you! I think that also applies to Taiwanese models. Those working in Hong Kong I don't like, those from Hong Kong but works mainly in New York, Paris, Milan eg Ai, Hye, Du, An I love!!

I think its justa matter of taste and different cultures... Im sure they did enough market research to know that perhaps the eruasian or the cuter type look works better with the asian audience which is why they are hired. People just have different taste in those regards I guess. Also theres the fact that asian people tend to be cute looking than they are hot looking.. take alessandra for example in this pic

If an asian model did that same pose the outcome will be cute. Somehow when allesandra does it, its cute, but hot. That is because she is hot. She is the hot type. Asians tend to be cuter looking in general, so they pull off the cute vibe. And depending on your personal taste, you can choose to like it or not
