CLOSED HOUSE

HOUSE OF JAZZ is shutting up shop. The trendy East London-based label, that was set up by one of the capital's coolest fashion duos, Pablo Flack and Hazel Robinson, four years ago, has had its time in the sun. Now the pair, who are as prevalent on the party scene as their designs have been in A-list wardrobes, are turning their attentions to other projects. "It definitely feels like it's time to put the House of Jazz project in a box on top of the wardrobe and to think back on what a fantastic time we've had," says Flack, whose designs have appeared on the backs of Gisele, Claudia Schiffer, Kylie Minogue and Kate Moss and who will now concentrate on his newly-opened bar and restaurant, Bistroteque. "Pablo and I have worked on this brand intensively for the last four years, and both feel the need for a change," says Hazel, who promises that her trademark blond ringlets will not be off the fashion radar for long. "I think it's a great shame that such a vibrant label will be missing from the London schedule this season," says uber-stylist Katie Grand, who styled the first House of Jazz show in February 2001. "However, I'm sure Hazel and Pablo will do brilliantly at whatever they decide to do; they're both so charismatic and talented." (July 29 2004, AM)

 You guys are harsh!

I highly doubt that will happen though. PPR/Gucci Group wouldn't want to have such a failure on their record considering all the hype that has surrounded her from the very beginning of her career. Also, she has a lot of famous friends that they probably want to keep happy as well. Not saying I don't agree with you , I personally think there are young designers out there who a far more worthy of such major backing than Stella. :innocent: :ninja:

its a shame, i liked their work, but i understand the pressure.. it can be a bit too much

hope we will hear more from them soon

"We had a really good time," says Flack. "But now it's time to go."

i can't tell you how many times i've heard that in the past couple of years...you do sort of outgrow the hype...at first it's like a great adventure...but then it's just one annoying hyped up party after another and you feel like you're just spinning your wheels...not really going anywhere...until you just decide you've had enough and it's time to go and do something else...

bistroteque sounds fun...maybe i can check it out when i'm there...
thx kit..
