How many magazines do you have?

I have about 20 mags, I thought I had quite a lot, but looking at some of your amounts it's nothing:lol:

I have thousands or, at least, hundreds. Never did the counting, but I (or my mother) have been buying magazines each month from around mid 90's and keep all of them. Mid 90's til now makes about 10 year, a few magazines per month makes almost a hundred each year, which in ten years makes... go figure... :innocent:

My mom doesn't let me throw my mags away, she pays every mag that I buy, and here in Brazil a Vogue Paris, for example, costs 79,90 reais (40 dollars ), and Vogue Brasil sometimes have a 'Runway Special' (is not a suplement) so she would never let me throw a magazine away. ^_^

Actually, you may thank her for that one day...

 mmm the bored dad took out his dear babies to breathe in some fresh air today...

the oldest are from 2003-ish... ^_^

Do you guys subscribe the foreign magazines?? Do you even understand the language they're in?

^ I buy lots of foreign magazines, I can understand most of them. Especially the French ones. I mainly buy the foreign ones for the images and editorials etc and British and US Vogue for the same thing but content and articles too.

I buy a lot of foreign magazines too ... italian, french, americans, british and spanish ... my french is not that good, but I'm having french classes, and next year I'll have japanese classes @@ I love to learn other languages.

Yes, I can understand the languages the main Vogues etc come in - and when I don't understand the language of any magazine I happen to get hold of (usually Asian), I use it to teach myself, because it's a great motivation to learn the vocabulary about a subject you're interested in.

That said, I don't think there's any shame in anyone buying a magazine in a tongue they don't understand, because it's not as if the articles in fashion magazines are on a par with War & Peace. And art direction and decent page layout don't need words to get their message across.

And in terms of the money spent on magazines, I don't think someone who spends thirty dollars of their hard-earned money on magazines should be begrudged that. If anyone should be considering donating money to charity instead, it should be the people who actually buy the stuff featured in the magazines - the thousand-dollar handbags and the hundred-dollar T-shirts. I don't use my money to buy any of that stuff - I use a little of it to buy dreams printed on paper, which I then recycle when I'm through.

I'm so agreed with you
when I buy fashion mag I buy it just for ads and eds. I don't even read articles, I remember to read two articles from my Vogues last years. I don't have any problem to buy foreign mag which language I don't understand, I'm more interested about pictures, how different cultures tells things only using pictures, without words.

Some people spend their moneys expensive bags or shoes, or travelling.. I just wanna buy little bit luxory on my life every now and then or dreams printed on paper like you said. Nothing wrong with that :flower:

how many people are there have A-L-L the issues of vogue paris under carine?i'm jealous:blink:

Agree with you both.

So good to feel I'm not alone...

I have 98 magazines in my room and about 20 more scattered around the house.

I also have maybe 1200....Just moved though, and it feels like it might be much more, I have to recount.

I started collecting vintage mags in 2002 (my vintage def is pre 1985)....Swedish, Italian, French, British, German and American ....of course there's a good number of newer mags in there too (hundreds). And I have a lot of scanning to do, folks (MMA, Dieselmax, BerlinRocks....I owe you some particularly obscure scans), unfortunately work (and Windows Vista :ninja:) got in the way :innocent:

done yet? must know!

most of my thousands of billions of magazines reside in my bedroom on bookshelves, in stacks, under my bed, gah every where.
i often go to sleep and realize theres 4 or 5 magazines lounging under my covers that annoy me (and im too lazy to remove usually).

then the older ones me and my mum keep in the library/study room place...

gahh..
*ashamed*
