I have a question- I've already searched the forum and I couldn't find my answer. How much money does a model actually earn out of what the agency takes, booker fees, etc? I'm sure it all depends, but could someone explain the general idea?

You don't have to be a top, top girl to make money as a model but you do need to commit to it full time. There's so much travelling involved, you can't usually hold down a second job. For shooting one catalogue you can make $30,000+ (USD) minus the agency fees (up to 30%). Not shabby for a week of work! Certainly more than a lot of people the same age make in a year. And of course travel expenses are normally paid for by the client (your agency should negotiate this).

Expect to do a lot of editorials in the beginning for free or for peanuts ($100 or less). You need the tear sheets to get better jobs (advertising work) in the future.

Well I dont talk about exact amount but believe it these girls are getting incredible money. Even the ones not in Gemma´s position are making tons of money!!!

It must vary a lot even with the big girls. But yes a lot!

Make-up contracts I guess pay most. Exclusives for sure, and then other campaigns. Runway pay very well to for the big girls, but edits pay almost nothing. For girls being in big magazines are like advertising for them, to get campaigns and become a name you need to be seen. The girls need the mags more than mag need them.

Oh and some campaigns don't pay much. I know I heard of D&G and others paying very little. But like edits it's prestige in it and campaign will book you more jobs later.

Catalog has zero prestige but mean $$. That is why you see big names for Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdals etc.

Big money, even girls who do pure catalogue. American catalogue can pay like $3000 a day. Ten catalogue bookings a month means 30,000 dollars. I know stam just hit the 2 Million mark last year. It really depends. But the money can be really good.

sasha and tanya..probably not quite a million..but at least a few hundred thousand

if they have a good campaign season, they will make a lottt

darla baker is probably doing quite well money wise as well since shes working with clients like neiman marcus quite often...
