yeah, Dunst was the only winner in Cannes who refused to give an interview after her win, but then again Charlotte cancelled all of her interviews right after the press conference, so i'm going with the Trier situation too that caused all of this, not the diva behavior.

Cannes: Person hated the most by the press? This up and coming director who is about to move from film festival darling to the mainstream. He did accomplish what many people would love to do when he got kissed by this almost A list movie actor at a press event.

Most popular guess is Nicolas Winding Refn + Ryan Gosling.

Don't quite get what this BI is actually saying. Is (presumably) Nicolas hated because he kept getting kissed by Ryan and everyone is jealous. Or that he is hated by the press because he a difficult and rude interviewee and the kissing detail was just a way to identify him.

Hardly scandalous either way. Euro directors are notoriously more difficult and bizarre than their English-speaking counterpoints. People don't really care if art house directors are rude if they produce great work (provided they don't praise Hitler).

(Though, I'm definitely jealous of Nicolas for getting so many kisses from Gosling!).

AFAIK (according to the Danish press) Refn got about a bazillion questions about Von Trier and got quite tired of that - if that's true I can understand if he was cranky and difficult towards the press to be honest.

i think the BI only means that people were jealous. they would've given a reason (bitchy, not willing to answer many question, arrogant etc) otherwise. it also said "film festival darling"...hardly sounds like they really hated him. the only that's weird is why they didn't write "person hated most by the entire world population" why only the press?!
i sure wouldn't mind to be kissed by Ryan
