Well, I don't think like this anymore. I don't find it appealing to have a wardrobe of designer clothes... but if I do have to say something, I have to go for vintage Balenciaga and Dior, from the times the clothes were designed by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Christian Dior.

Interesting question... if utilitarian, I'd choose Levi Strauss perhaps boring, practical and normal but very wearable.

If I had to choose one contemporary designer from any era, I would choose Vivienne Westwood. Her sense of intrigue, challenge and artistry is incomparable. And I thoroughly appreciate her fashion philosophy. Of course, I'd need the mythical purse that always has gold coins in it, no matter now much I spend, but that's a totally different issue.

As for iconic designers from the past, Elsa Schiaparelli!

A.P.C. maybe. I always like their collections, and they don't follow trends too much. It'd be easy to dress comfortable but still stylish.
