Ahh, thanks Dandy. ...but that makes me wonder if its allowed considering the water..? Anyway, I figure I'll just take one or two bagels, apple/banana and some almond nuts.

it would probably be allowed it its not opened, but you also might be able to buy it past the security checkpoint.

Do people actually follow the whole 3 oz. liquid rule? I had way more than 3 oz. of liquid but I just put it in my bag and no one even checked or cared  Same with food, the people actually encouraged us to take on food because it was a night flight with no meal service.

Wait, does that rule apply Internationally? I thought it's only in Europe, cause in China, I could take a whole liter bottle of water with me, and noone even blinked an eye.

Plus, the airport in Austria sucks. They check the luggage right BEFORE the departure place INSIDE. That means, all the Duty Free stuff, and there's no chance of buying drinkables in the Duty Free area, as they have to get tossed when you enter the security check. Seriously, it's a royal pain in the ar*e.

I think people should follow the rules. On the way to Japan, in Vienna they took my 0,5l mineral water bottle even i bought it at Budapest airport after check in.

Well I'm sure it's different with international flights! But I just took an interstate flight and I put everything in my bag and everything was sort of buried and no one checked. I had water and tons of makeup but no one cared enough to check.

^When I said China, I was meaning to say "from China to Vienna". Which makes it international. Now seriously, are those regulations worldwide or only EU-wide?

Yeah the same happened to me comingin from Berlin to Stanstead. I had bought a bottle of pop after checking in whilst waiting to board the plane. It was really nice too.

hi i'll be flying form madrid to newark adn then san diego in less than a week and i must know if i can carry the contact lense liquid , moisturizer, lip balm? When i bought the contact liquid they said i could take the travel size bottle because it is 100 ml and it says what it is in the bottle but from what i've read i get the impression it has to be in a clear bottle??

i can not fly more than 24 (counting airport waiting and all) without taking my contacts off and glasses are a pain for me on planes!! And after so many hours my face and lips will be horrible.

if this is any help i have afriend who studies in london and came back like once a month so she's been through the liquid thing a couple of times and told me that cheap flights from london (easyjet and those companies) in the end were more expensive beacuse they would not let u take any liquid at all, and they changed the weight u were alloud to carry like every month (so u end up paying tons on money for carrying too much weight - it went from 20 kilos to 15 and she had to pay for the extra 5 kilos).

Does someone know the amout of liquid u are allowed to carry in liters (or mililiters)? And how many small bottles can u carry?

Sorry for beeing the thousand time this is asked but i don't want to have to leave my stuff behind in the airports. I mean the nothing meatalic on the plane was kind of anoying but this!!!i wish in a couple of years it wont be enforced.

by the way my sister traveld to london and carried lots of makeup in her carry-on. It was solid though but in the end there was not much she had to take in her luggage.

ohh just read that u can take the carmex click stick.

just came up with a new question can u carry bar soap?(it's a solid so u should right??)

They check anything that is liquid. Meaning that, if you take pressed powders with you, lipstick, soap bars, etc, you can leave them in your carryon. Only the liquid will be checked.

You need a ziploc baggie, which can carry a max of 1 (one) liter, as far as I know, those baggies are still handed out for free at airports, just make sure you got all your liquid stuff in one splace, so it'll be easier for you transfer.

Controls in GB are out of control. But I just recently flew from Vienna to Amsterdam, and everything was fine, while during my transfer in Paris in November, people really checked everything. Maybe there's a difference between countries, or the people are slowly slacking off.

Someone mentioned that the jars have to transparent, but I brought several samples tubes of Clarins Men products with me on the plane and there was no fuss. As long as it's small, people will let you through with it. There's only danger with bigger containers.

I don't think there's a limit to how many things you can stuff inside that ziploc bag, as long as it's closable. (the bag i mean). The maximum each small container can contain is 100ml, airport secu's won't budge on this one. Like I said before, get small sample containers from MAC and stuff all the things you need in there. They're tiny, but big enough to carry at least several days worth of makeup, the rest can be stuffed into the checked in luggage. If you clean them throughly enough, you can even put your contacts with the liquid inside one of those.

^ In the US, they don't check. I'm not sure about international flights but they certainly didn't when I was flying state-to-state,

It is getting really bad in Britain because of that thing that happened in Glasgow. It was scary! My dad was there to fly to Amsterdam and he couldn't go and all flights from other airports were stopped too.

Back on topic: I always layer clothing, so your never to hot or to cold.

I'm having anxiety about being inside the airports for long periods of time, from JFK to CDG--its freaking me out!!

For any unanswered questions or if you have further inquiries, check with your airline website and http://www.tsa.gov.

^I love being inside airports for longer periods of time... it's fun for me. So many lil' shops, people watching, Duty Free shopping, and I guess that a lot of airports have a Starbucks, so I can always get an ice blended latte. At CDG I like to be OUTSIDE the check in area, cause there's more shops and things to see (but I always worry about the stuff I have with me, cause I feel more secure inside :ninja:) Besides, my fav yogurt drink YOP is only available in France, so I can always drink a between between transfers, lol.

That was true for me when terrorism existed only in the movies but at the current state of affairs, I'm just not comfortable. (esp since these two airports are pretty distinct.)

Whoever asked if it applies on international flights, I'm pretty sure most airlines are applying this rule. I recently traveled to Singapore and also to India, and both were pretty strict.

Re. in metric, you must put all your liquids/gels/creams in containers under 100ml., and place those containers in a ziploc bag of 1 LITER. The bag has to be able to shut, it cant be overflowing. Even if the bottle is almost empty, the bottle itself has to be less than 100ml.

Also, remember that not only LIQUIDS are not allowed, GELS and CREAMS arent either. Including mascara and lipgloss. In fact, I had shea butter in a can and they told me it was considered a liquid...they told me, anything that can be scooped. Pretty silly since if the same shea butter were in a stick, it would pass inspection, but anyway.
