I think it is good they shoot the covers. It must be quite easy to just make do and get an image from American INstyle.

Shooting a cover also means you can control the styling and choose the dress for the cover which leads to advertising.

Why aren't Marie Claire shooting covers? They must be able to get SOMEBODY to shoot.

I don't think it's about getting somebody (they've proved they can, having shoots with Rihanna, Anne Hathaway...) it's about money. It's cheaper to take from the other publications, much cheaper, and Marie Claire is not making the money to be able to afford to do shoots of its own like that clearly.

Also InStyle does still reproduce in all fairness, there's sometimes quite large shoots reproduced in the UK edition and on occasion there's been covers. Julianne Moore's was the last re-print I believe? Then we had Gwyneth's reprinted also..

I can't say that I disagree with you but UK editors are obsessed with her for some reason so if she's going to be on covers at least make her look her best. Hopefully because she's not on X Factor any more, she won't get her annual Vogue and Elle covers.
