baked - the gucci is SO AMAZING! i have always loved that bag...it's so '70s to me, especially in that gorgeous whiskey. jacky seems to do gucci very, very well in my experience.

i am so sorry about your SC. wow. i was not expecting that at all! on the overhead shot, the scratches do not really show, so i imagine carrying irl is OK. it looks like wear and tear, but not terrible. can you not exchange it (i know you'd have to pay shipping at least one way)? sorry if you already mentioned this.

I think Jacky is doing the leopard calfhair alexa as he's got the same leather for the Bayswater on his site now. But the leopard pattern is really off, so I'm think the pattern on the alexa will be off too?

Petitcherie: I would also love a Bays Camel Haircalf bag-- perfect for fall IMHO, but J's is really rough! The proportions and pattern look way off.

thesiren or anyone else who has medor experience:

Would you all like to chime in on what you think of the real medor vs. the rep? My eyes are not sharp enough to spot very many of the flaws, other than the original appears to 'fold over' in a relatively sharper 'crease' than the rep.

def. much better than the ones in ioffer. looks really decent BUT the leather used on this one looks 'not-right'... medor clutches are normally in smooth surface leathers.... from this picture, are there lines on the leather???

Siren - I'm so delighted with the gucci, it's a beauty for sure.:flower:

Jacky has given me two options for the scratched LV SC:
send it back for exchange and incur shipping costs
or
keep bag and 30 dollar credit for next order

don't know which to pick - help me make a decision girls!
Really like the SC, but I'm oogling over the light coloured LV steller jacky has just put up.....swoon:heart:

in other news, t&d confirmed to me this morning that they are getting the bois de rose leather in next week:D yipppeee!

I really, really want RGGH Black or Anthra City. Keeping my fingers crossed the boys might put some completed bags up on ioffer. I'm nervous about getting the bags without seeing the finished RGGH product.

Was it BBS who wasn't sure about prepaying for the bags? Well, I feel you!

I prepaid for both a black and anthra (rh tho...) city. Hopefully I will have them in time so I can share photos so you are at least able to see the leather up close. Perhaps by then you may have had the opportunity to see their RGGH as well! I hope at least one of the two bags works out for you!! :flower:

On another note: I have been a busy bee trying to decode (and I mean that very literally!) the info given for the different sellers mentioned on this forum so I can view their lovelies. I am v.e.r.y. OCD and need instant gratification so I made it my mission to at least try! It's been very fun, yet challenging...and I believe I am making some progress! Someone said recently that you won't necessarily find it all on this forum...you have to hunt...but it is out there, which is SO true. Last night I counted over 32 tabs open at one time...one hint leading to another and then yet another. There was so many tabs up there wasn't even enough room to show the icon on each one...I had to delete some of them so I could find my way again.

I now have a few LV's on my wishlist. :innocent: I own a few auth LV's so I have been comparing pics verrry carefully. When I get it narrowed down some more (damier vs. mono and style) I might need some more expert opinions on who to go to for which particular style.

One question now though...is there any one seller who consistently has the exact spot on sealer color for the mono vachetta? Or is it more on a style by style basis? :flower::flower:

bakedbean, do the scratches bother you much? I think you should check with your local post office how much it'll cost to post the bag to Jacky. It's quite a heavy and big bag, so I don't think it'll be cheap. You also have to ensure it's registered mail so that you can track it. Personally, if it costs $30 or less to mail the bag to J, I'll do it and pick another bag.

shoe - it's one of those reps that "just looks off." the fold, the leather practically glares at you and NO H leather does that, even box. overall, i'd just say it isn't a good pick for a rep, at least not for me.

baked - i agree with xooey. it depends on how much the scratches bother you. from the sound of things, you're already willing to budge on the bag, so you may not be totally in love with it. i would weight the $$$ and go from there. i don't find the scratches too brutal, but of course i'm not the one carrying the bag.

handbag - yes, the quality of the LV varies on the bag, not always the seller. jacky is pretty consistent when it comes to mono/damier and epi, but i do have a stellar damier from catty. if you tell us which bag you're eyeing, we can tell you if it's one that is repped well across the board or usually sucks.

i am going to pluck my courage, & be brave to order jacky's amethyst bag - the color is just too alluring to pass, lol...

can i get a bunch of votes if I should get the amethyst in birkin 30cm or kelly 32cm. p/s - I am opting for gold hardware combo.

appreciate alot! :)))

bakedbeans - have you tried using a conditioner to moisturise those marks on your LV stellar bag? they look like pressed marks & not scratches.... if they are marks, worth a shot to try your fingers to massage (warmth) & conditioning, the depressed marks will come up. i use this method on my chanel lambskin bags when the chains leave a mark on the leathers during storage.

Only RGGH styles do not have the lampo zipper.

Naiala- Bois de rose does not come in GGH, only RGGH and GSH. GSH would look really good on it though. T&D wanted everyone to email about BDR because they didn't think there was enough interest. They don't want to run a color if it will barely sell.

Thanks for that valuable info PinkPrincess, now i won't be getting my Day BdR in GGH, i probably go for GSH or RH which sounds great too. :flower:

Abarth i read good reviews about Jacky's Birkin, which is amazing cos the prizes are low for a good Birkin, they even said, the leather was very soft...? :innocent:

Nice haul, Bakedbean! I'll hope you can get rid of those marks with the girls advices.

Jacky's Giant Leopard Haircalf Bayswater

ladies,

someone posted a few pages back about jacky's new haircalf bayswater being off because of the pattern of the leopard print....but she was incorrect.

here's a pic from the MULBERRY WEBSITE showing that indeed jacky's isnt that far off (i'm not saying it's an exact match, but it's a heck of a lot closer than what she had posted). So before we go off hating on lil' ol jacky saying his stuff is "way off" let's do a little due diligence k?

mulberry has 3 haircalf bayswaters and there's another one with a pattern that's also fairly close to jacky's in a bit of a duller leopard coloring. The one that she got off netaporter was the one furthest from jacky's!

okgo, i don't think anyone is 'hating' on jacky. They're just stating the fact that his leopard is off; a little off or way off that's the individual's discretion...

jacky makes mistakes, we've seen it in the past and we'll see it again. luckily he's great enough to fix them when they're caught. :flower:

abarth, i didn't see the amethyst 32cm kelly on j's page...but the 35cm silver hardware one looks a little lumpy and the handle looks odd. the birkin looks nice though. my .02 cents ^_^

^^
I think you're a little confused too my dear.
this isn't about jacky making mistakes, it's about someone that didnt do her research and compared a completely different mulberry bag to jacky's.
here- i'll make it simple for you with an excellent comparison.

the top bag is what i believe jacky was aiming for, the giant leopard haircalf bayswater. but she incorrectly showed a picture of the (bottom) Camel Degrade Leopard Haircalf which caused a minor kerfuffle

should you or anyone require further clarification, just PM me. there's no need for this to clog the thread.

either way, jacky's giant leopard haircalf sold out! so whatever incorrect comparison shousame did had no bearing!

but i will be the first to agree that jacky has made some bags with flaws and mistakes, so long live this thread and those that continue to improve what's out there!

Abarth, I also had a similar issue with my LV SC. The plastic wrapping on the handles pressed against the front of the bag and left a big pressed plastic covered "ring." Can you share what condition you use to get the depressed marks to come up? My LV needs some love too! :flower: TIA

that's NOT off? just a little? in the real one, the "spots" doesnt have "holes". Jacky's has bunch of them. that's not OFF?
this discussion can be posted here, as long as it is on topic: how good/bad jacky's leopard mulberry is!

sigh. no need for internet tude ;). i was merely stating the original poster had good intentions. besides, 100mph posted the other leopard bayswater you posted after.

for complete "due diligence" there is also a third version of the leopard bayswater. oy oy. i believe this is the one that J was trying to copy as it has exact description copied from the site. The other leopard bags have slightly different descriptions of the calf hair leather

Duly noted!
I was just merely stating that shousame had OVERLOOKED that there were 2 other haircalfs and perhaps hers used to compare with Jacky might not be the right one (with the mini leopard print-- btw what kind of leopards out there have micro dots like that? Baby leopards? Yiikes)

Baby yorkie is right, they're all off! And I would never dare bring either into the store!! A good friend of mine works at the soho store-- Justin if you're reading this- I plead the fifth, there are no rep Mulberry anythings in this household, promise. Thanks for the invite to the Mulberry S/S'10 show @NYFW last year, I stll love you!
