yesterday i decided to get an anthracite work with gsh, but i'm having second thoughts... the work seems so big, and i'm quite small (5'3).. on some pictures it looks great but on other pictures it looks huge.

anthra is a grey colour with blue or green undertones, right? do you guys think it'll look similar to the first picture i posted above?

sill! are you sure that's a work in the 2nd pic? it looks like a weekender to be honest.

i love the work on me- i'm about 5'4" and it does not look overpowering. carry less in it and it will slouch beautifully. the girl in the first pic you posted inspired me to get a sapphire gsh work too and it was gorge. anthra will look similar since it is a chameleon color if that is the effect you want but the first gal has a blue-purple bag... i forgot i think someone said it was ink?

sill there are many factors that play into the sizing of the bag from the 1st pic vs the 2nd pic. in the first picture the angle of the bag is not showing the whole bag and it is a black bag against a black background so it may be playing tricks with the eye. in the second picture you get a full frontal picture and it is against a background that has contrast. It also looks a bit stretched.

I would suggest you get a piece of paper and cut to the shape of the bag, to get an idea of the size.

both bags are works. but gh does change the look of the bsg. it looks smaller w gh, just like w city.

The darlings will be a little more expensive because of the real gold content in the zip, freight from Italy and duty. Can you believe they have to put real gold in the zips.. I will be in touch once we have all the final details.


i dont' mind paying more for the hardware at all. (especially if it's spot on -- i think their GH can use some improvements.) just curious as to how much more.

chicadee: I am getting an exchange from Jacky for the Alexa because after holding it via the top strap, the postman lock almost came undone, and when I twisted it around it just snapped off. The lock was also 'lopsided' if that makes sense, so even if I replaced it, it would still be leaning sideways, kwim? The leather on my bag was soft and beautiful, though - I have asked Jacky to send me another with similar leather!

Carta, I received the same e-mail from the boys. 8) I wonder how much of a price increase it will be. Classic black with the RGGH looks so classy and beautiful. However, I am so hoping that sometime/someday soon, they will do the Town. The size, shape, and long strap on it is absolutely perfect.

On subject of the boys, has anyone found out if their batch 2 Galet bags are being shipped yet? It's the beginning of the week and they still haven't updated me with a tracking number, but I feel like a nuisance constantly e-mailing them for shipping updates as I had e-mailed them 2 weeks ago in addition to last week on the status of my Galet order.

Orchidian: T&D have not confirmed a price for the folk bag. They have informed me that they have to source a screw for the strap of the folk bag and see how much it costs to make this hardware before they actually even set the price. Once they work out the details they will let me know.

uiggi - i woud say galet is closest to the last pic lotti posted. it's definitely not a charcoal gray, more of a light gray with taupish undertones. there are specs of darker gray in there (well on mine, at least)

For those of you who have posted pics/reviews of J's nude Alexa, (esp. you mm!! ) THANK YOU!!!! I'm absolutely blown away by this bag!! The leather is on another level, the hardware pristine and the snakeskin makes it so sophisticated without being over the top. I can't believe how versatile it is with all the different ways to wear it!

My turnlock can move side to side slightly but I believe it's supposed to be this way, no? I see wear the divets are around the lock to allow movement. Just curious if this is what others mean by "wobbly" or not? Mine is quite sturdy.

Also! I think I know why Jacky had to change his site... Someone on the Mulberry forum on the other site linked directly to Jacky's old site on the authentication thread. They asked if his nude Alexa was authentic. The expert's answer? The bag *pictured* was real, but of course you wouldn't receive a bag of such quality. So basically ladies, Jacky's nude Alexa was authenticated!! Always good to know your replica can pass the test even under scrutiny!

Anyway, am beyond thrilled with the bag and SO glad I took the plunge! Thanks again for all the great information.

We just got an email from Italy saying they require Minimum order that would need 100 bags to support the order.
At this stage won't be doing any other color but Black in GRGH.

thank you all for your comments. I still can´t believe I´m taking pics of me and a BAG to post it on the internet

Yesterday I took her out the first time...the leather is better than my ruby one in terms of thickness, but my ruby is much more slouchy, I have been using this bag (since Feb 2009) more than every other one I own because it is so practical and light. I love to take it to the dirty clubs here in Berlin because it is soooo sophisticated to take a "BAL" in some shabby underground club B) Once I saw a guy with a messenger in a club and this weekend I met a girl from Australia with a black City - so I´m not the only one and theirs are probably authentic!!
I also have a GSH Work and I its look, it´s soooo cool and stylish, but it is not as comfortable as my Days. I do use it, though. BTW, last week a friend of my sister "exposed" me. My sister and her used to live in Paris together and she KNOWS Bals and their prices. I had my work and she was like "Wow, what a NICE bag you have", and I instantly knew that she knew, haha.
Then whe went to my place and she saw my Day on the coatrack: "Wow, you have ANOTHER one!". My sister was like what´s the fuss about the bags?! So I told them about reps from china etc. and that I dont want them to think I was stupid enough to spend 2000 on a bag. The thing is, people in my city dont recognize designer handbagy, only LV and that kind of stuff....only the hipster people coming from all over the worls know it, but not the normal people...

Chicadee: the folk bag is not a small bag. It is a medium sized messenger /flap shoulder bag. It is unisex. It does hold less than a velo. For me it is perfect. It can fit all my necessities like a magazine, iPad or net book as well as my agenda, wallet, cellphone and mp3 player. To keep the bag streamlined Balenciaga could not make it large. The bag is 4 inches in depth. A small bag to me is a first and sometimes a city. That is why I love my veios and my day bags. I posted the complete measurements two weeks ago and you can look up my posts.
