I got mine approx early September 2010 (bad memory sorry). I don't recall them doing different batches for this same run of anthra. I would presume it is the same based on pics of a tFSer who recently bought anthra work from NBF.

Fang Fang's Chanel 227 Reissue Bag Review

Happy New Year Ladies!

Everyones bags look fantastic, especially all that moutarde from T&D!

My new bag is FangFang's Chanel 227 Reissue. The symmetry of the quilts & quality of leather is impeccable. IMHO (& I own lambskin & caviar black leather silver hw m/l flaps from Jacky), Fang Fang makes the best rep Chanel bags.

She is very sweet to email with, and responds promptly to questions. I ordered from her taobao (larger selection than her ioffer), and negotiated with her based on her rate in RN to USD, and paid via paypal.

I also ordered a black caviar leather maxi Chanel, w/ silver hardware. The structure was flawless - the way the bags folds in on the sides, the flat bottom, the volume of the quilits, etc. The caviar leather was a bit stiff, and more pebbly than my auth caviar leather Chanel. But, I have worn that bag for almost a year, and may have broken it in and smoothed out the leather from usage. It is only obvious when the bags are side by side. Reading the other forum, apparantly Chanel auth caviar leather is now softer than in the past, sop perhaps FangFang sources her "original" leather from a place tha reps older, stiffer caviar leather. The caviar leather in the chain was dry/squeaky, which I have also seen in auth caviar leather Chanel bags.

Unfortunately, I ordered a maxi with raised hardware, and received a maxi with flat hardware. I took pics, and emailed FangFang. I mailed it bag to her from the post office, and am ordering a jumbo lambskin bag to replace it. She emailed me on New Years Day to let me know she received the bag, but need to preorder the lambskin jumbo with raised hardware I want. Wish me luck that I get my HG labmskin jumbo!

The interior leather of the 227 is detaching a bit from the corners - it is unnoticeable when it is filed, but obvious when empty. The interior leather of the maxi was extensively detaching from the bottom of the bag - I could live with wrong hardware, but not with that flaw on a bag of the maxi's proportion.

Also, one of the 227's metal loops (that the chain goes thru, not sure of the specific word for it) came loose yesterday, the 2nd time I wore it I will try to use super glue to fix it - Does anyone have any advice for me how to fix it?

I do realize that reps are reps, and can never match the quality of auth bags.
For what its worth, I believe that FangFang is the best source of Chanel reps. As with any other seller, a picture says a thousand words, and it pays to be specific with your desires, and liberal with your expecations.

The images of turquoise intrigued me - I ordered a First & a City from T&D, as well as several coin purses, and 2 RGGH bags. T&D said my Turquoise City was ready to ship around Christmas Eve, looking forward to its arrival! They also said they will send my bags as they are ready, not all at once - this makes me feel safer, and like Santa Claus is extending his generosity to me!

It has been one year since I found this forum, and thru it T&D. They are not only the best rep-makers for Bal bags, I consider them friends.

Will update y'all with pics/reviews of T&D's Turquoise, as well as their RGGH hardware when the times comes.

The current run from T & D is different than what came out in the Fall 2009. The first batch was classified as 2009 and had very strong blue/green undertones. The newest one classified as 2010 is darker and more neutral.

Blair Warner the reissue looks lovely! A confidence boost for ordering with Fang now. There are pics of her lambskin Chanel couple of posts back, I hope your jumbo looks as beautiful as those.

i bought an anthracite weekender from T&D from the latest batch (the 2010 ones), it's a true dark grey with no visible blue/green undertones that i can tell.

jihanemo, I dont know if there's a rep thread, but I do have an auth moncler Tibet down vest and I've looked on ioffer and the ones that do provide their own pics look different from the real deal. I've seen a ton of people in NY with rep Monclers-- there's something about the sheen of the fabric that is off, and the fill of the down that isnt quite right. If it helps, it's a good time right now to be getting moncler w/ all the sales, I know saks had some monclers at 40% off, and I've even seen them at the barneys warehouse sale (tho not the classic pieces) for a decent price. Can anyone chime in about NBF handle stretching? My city handles are not bad but not the same as when they were new, and I've had the bag for about two months.

regarding the handle stretching issue...i have a cornflower city that i sold, then generously came back to me. i've used it consistently for at least 7-8 months straight. the handles have stretched ever so slightly, but nothing that would be alarmingly noticeable.

p.s., the bag is about two years old, at least

I personally like the bois de rose with the rh - just because the leather is so light already that the shiny silver thimbles would be a little too flashy for me...but I tend to like rougher looking details to my purses

Blair Warner, thank you for that lovely review. I also ordered a Turq City and cannot wait to see it! This bag has been my HG since I only managed to snap a First from their last run. I hope the leather is just as gorgeous, that Turq was their best leather ever IMO. Anyhow, I'm surprised nobody received their Turq yet, I cannot wait to get sb's review, I'm so curious to see how it compares! I haven't seen a single pic of it, not even on T&D's iOffer page since they posted a pic from the last run.

Both look great with BDR, I had a hard time deciding as well, but I went for RH, not because I think it suits the colour better, but because I wear my RH bags A LOT more than my GH bags. So that's why I got RH.

Both look perfect with BDR and you can't go wrong either way Choose the one you'll get more wear from. And if you're getting a Twiggy RH, that a City should have GH. Twiggy and City RH would be too similar, at least in my opinion.

I got the Work in BDR with RH because I liked the dark hardware/light leather contrast. I love it!
