Amethyst-It only took 4 days to get to the US! Super Fast!

When I first took it out of the box it had the chemical "I'm a fake bag" smell, but I let it air out overnight and now it has no chemical smell and faint leather aroma. There's one link on the chain that I think is backwards- but it is really easy to hide.

Honestly, I was SO excited about this bag I went and looked at Jumbo's at NM last week and compared to the auth bag everything seems so SPOT ON. The weight and feel of the bag is amazing and the quality of the leather and hardware is superb.

I only have one gripe with the bag and that is the leather on the straps is really noisy and plastic-y sounding, but I assume as with most bags that will go away with time as I break it in.

Overall, with the exception of a few T&D bals this is one bag that I wouldn't be afraid to carry into any high-end boutiques/department stores (mayyyybe not a chanel boutique  ) as the real thing. Fang Jumbo FTW!

Nice bag Glimmer163. I'm assuming from the "plastic-y" sounds that you describe that the straps squeak? I have a med caviar from catty that does this too. I've carried it twice now and it still squeaks. Do you reckon this will go away with time? Its hideous!

hautest, i believe i included the leather piece when i measured it, but my part time is an older style...
i did read on tPF that the newer part times (from s/s 2010 forward) have a strap that's about 2cm's shorter than the older part time straps...
hope that helps...:flower:

on another note, i am dying to see pics of someone's celine box or luggage tote...:judge:

My maxi caviar chain from Fang Fang squeeked

I I had never carried an auth caviar Chanel, I wouldnt mind.

but

The chain of my m/l caviar auth bag is very liquid, doesnt squeek, so I sent it back (also, she accidentally sent me flat hardware, when I ordered raised hardware from her pics).

The structure of Fang Fang's Chanels are out of this world - so good!

Yep- the squeaking is really annoying- I'm thinking about trying something this weekend to loosen up/break in the leather of the straps (applecare maybe?).

It seems that the leather is new and woven through pretty tight so its rubbing against the hardware and causing the noise. Anyway, I've been carrying it all day and the sound is already not as bad as before...just needs a little lovin' i presume.

Hey, ladies!

I received my order from Jacky today via USPS! It took just 3 days to arrive from Hong Kong to the US! He shipped it out (and sent me a tracking number) 24hrs after I sent him my paypal payment! I couldn't be happier with the quality! :flower::winkiss:

Aside from leather revive, what else could I use to remove the shine from my nbfs? I've got a new batch black city and anthra twiggy with great leather, but they are shiny. I would like to see them all super matte.

On a side note: I noticed on the shipping label itself; it says it cost $268HKD, which is roughly $34.40 USD...he's only making a markup of $6 USD (out of the new $40USD shipping). Which isn't bad at all; the speedy shipping is a great trade off, IMO!

Jacky's new site

I was prolonging buying some things over xmas since I had to be good, but now as I have some spare $ and went to check out the site again I see its down! :S My luck.
I got an email from him last time the website was switched over... Hoping he'll do the same this time around! If anyone hears from him first, please pm the info too!

Thanks everyone!!

ps - just purchased a new to me black nbf first RH. Seller said it was from the september batch and that it got rave reviews from some on here... Having a hard time finding the posts tho....I never had a bbag b4 this so not sure what to go on... any feedback?

The last time I was on Jacky's site there was a scrolling banner that said he wouldn't be taking orders between some dates in Jan/Feb- anyone remember which dates they were?

he won't be taking orders between 29 January and 12 February.

I guess he is swamp with orders and emails now.

I got desperate and tried Lovin My Bags "For Handles" on my Galet and Anthra. The shine is gone but I'm not sure it will stay that way! HTH :flower:

Glimmer163 - Your new flap is gorgeous - thanks for the pics! :woot: Looks a lot better than the jumbo I got from Jacky a few months ago... I will definitely look into Fang when my Chanel obsession resurfaces.

I just ordered a Black City RH from the boys yesterday, can't wait to receive it! I have been using my Galet Day RH non-stop since I got it in August, however, disaster struck a few hours ago in the form of a leaky Powerade bottle and I am devastated!!! Does anyone have any advice or experience with liquid stains on their NBF bags? The bottom corner of the bag was soaked and is still extremely dark. I have used the bag in the rain before and it has always dried without any marks, but the Powerade was pink and sticky. I guess it is still drying, but I'm really worried. Any words of wisdom, ladies?

Oh no! That stain looks bad. My 1st half baked idea would be to not let the bag dry. Run and get more of the powerade to soak the whole bag so that at least it will all be the same color when it dries. It's late and I'm tired but that is the 1st thing that popped in my head. I hope someone else might have a better suggestion. You might try taking it to a shoe repair place in the morning.

holy **** that's bad. you need to get that baby in the tub asap. I'd recommend turning it inside out first though before submersing since the stain is penetrating the leather from the inside out. use something gentle like baby shampoo. good luck on that one :flower: be sure to post "after" pics.
I'll never understand why anyone would carry liquid inside their expensive leather bag! you couldn't make me do that to my babies. so crazy!

edit: just read the previous post. yeeeeeeah, umm... please don't go run and get more powerade to douse your bag with. that makes no sense and would be insane. plenty of girls here and on tPF (the authentic forum) have washed their balenciagas in a tub/sink/bucket with soap and water, achieving fantastic results. just wash it thoroughly, dry completely, and if need be, repeat. it'll make the bag softer too, btw.

Ahhh, thanks for the replies - keep them coming!

The Day has been my workhorse bag for the past few months and I usually just keep a bottle of water inside and I've never had a problem. Of course, the only day I decide to grab a Powerade, it leaks - serves me right! Lesson definitely learned.

amethyst_sparkle - Thank you for the suggestion! I'm about to stick it in the tub, do you know if warm/cold water is better?

I'd say warm, maybe even hot. But I've personally never done it before, so I'd say a good 'n' thorough google search is in order. I'm sure there's a guide or a site with tips out there somewhere.
