Dernier - I think using cold water would be the safest bet. Washing stained items in hot water tends to set the stain and make it harder to remove.

Here is a pic of my 1st bag from the boys, a Sahara City GSH. The leather is like butter. The color is reminiscent of sand. It was a little stiff when it arrived but after several weeks of daily use it is very soft and reminds me of lambskin. I love the giant hardware! The size is perfect for me. I was trying to downsize from a larger bag. Thankfully all my essentials fit perfectly.

Honestly, I would never have made this purchase had it not been for the many glowing raves about the boys. You gals were so right! They are very sweet! The bag arrived less than an hour before a trip last month. I ripped the packaging open, filled up the bag and off I went, never thinking to post a pic till now. As soon as I returned, I placed an order for a GRGH City. I can't wait for that baby to arrive!

Thanks for the tip, Amyiish. The bag has been soaked and massaged, it's just drying now... fingers crossed! It can't be any worse than what it looked like in that pic I posted.

Imari, that Sahara City is gorgeous. I'm usually not the biggest fan of the giant hardware, but I love the colour of the bag with the GSH!

weathergirl - Congratulations! My stuff seems to spend a couple days in Customs at SFO. Looking forward to the pics.

DernierCri - Thanks sweetie. I'll also keep my fingers crossed.

I remember some Marco Tagliaferro discussion a few threads back. Has anyone followed up with Jacky about it?

Everyone's bags look beautiful btw.

I think warm water is the best solution, neither hot nor cold. I kind of remember reading that cold water sets the stain in.

here is our updated list for T+D. is anyone else interested in these colors or other potential colors?

boinquo, devon does the leather on your NBF bags looks/ turns dry after removing the shine? Mine looks pretty dry and the leather looks "cracky" after a spot test and I am hesitant to continue for the rest of the bag.

Yep! Cold water. The best way to remove something right after it's happened is to use water the same temperature. So, cold drink stain, cold water.

DernierCri: I am crossing fingers, toes and eyeballs hoping the stain comes out! I carry water bottles in my bag all the time (I have thirsty kids, it can't be avoided). I've never had anything happen. And people take their bags out in pouring rain so I don't see how it's any different with a water bottle. I would avoid beverages with color though! Please let us know how it ends up looking!

boinquo: Apple Leather Care is a good one. It's very inexpensive but takes more coats to have the same results as one coat of LR. There are lots of great leather conditioners though. I would just make sure the one you choose is specifically designed for soft leathers and do a spot test first. :flower:

thank you babybluestar--I have Apple Care and was going to try it, just wanted a thumbs up for reassurance. I REALLY like the leather on my babies.

bisoubis - I coated my anthra twiggy with Apple Care once and the shine only went down ever so slightly. The leather looks good though. Perhaps you rubbed the stuff in too much? I did that on a bag and I discolored it after the 3rd coat or so.

Can I just say the last batch of black is ridiculous? And for those who have anthra--what color comes out for you more? Mine is really dark and I wanted it to look gray.

The shine is starting to come back a little bit and I'll wait a few days and see. My anthra is a very dark grey, there are some pics I posted on page 41 or 42.

I have several bags from NBF and I find the shine gradually fades in a few weeks on it own from daily usage:flower:
