Hi everyone,

It is my first post but I have been reading all the valuable posts here and thanks to all of you. I have been searching all the info on Balenciaga bags and trying to convince myself how good the fake ones will be, but I guess the question is why do we want to buy a balenciaga bag? Becos of how it looks, the design ? Then we can just buy the fake ones. If we are looking for a bag that feels good (its a fact that soft italian leather are the best) and also we like how the bag slouch I guess the fake one will not give us that satisfaction. Just my humble opinion.

Luna,

Thanks for the info! I saw you mentioned Guccilover05, are her bags good? She takes paypal. You didn't say if you saw her stuff in person.

I ordered a gucci bag from her that was excellent. I haven't seen any of her Balenciagas in person

OH MY. I have just purchased a small black from designermarque!! fingerscrossed for a good bag!!!

chelseagirl, i didnt mean i wanted a seafoam twiggy, just a twiggy in general. i was more commenting on the style and the way the bag hung in that pic of nicky hiltons seafoam one. Luna have you ordered your twiggy?? If so, would you please post when you get it your opinions on the quality, way it hangs etc. DM seems to get good reviews off almost everyone, is that who you ordered from?

He has to have the color I want made... so it'll take two weeks. :( Oh well... It's worth it. I saw a girl on the street with a fake balenciaga... it looked nice... lol I even stopped her and asked if I could touch the leather.. Luckily she didnt think I was a moron!

I know this may have been asked a dozen of times, but how can you tell the fakes from the real? I guess use the small black as an example since that's the one I purchased.

I'm assuming dimensions, quality of leather, hardware color, color of leather... I dunno... I'm just guessing here. ;)

There are various differences between the real and the fakes, depending on the quality of the fake. I assume you are mostly interested in the one you ordered from DM, so here goes...

- the dimensions are definitely different
- the "lampo" marking
- color of the hardware (balenciaga no longer uses any tarnished silvery hardware, but i believe they used to for black ones)
- maybe the leather (I still have not received my order yet, so I'm not 100% sure about this one)

DM's small classiques appear pretty much on point with the actual balenciaga... it is not that easy to tell the difference unless you inspect closely :flower:

oh my, you must have very good eyes to be able to spot a fake just like that (either that, or it was not a very good fake) :D

i doubt the leather felt as nice as a real balenciaga, but how was it? did you happen to also inquire where she purchased it from?:p

Thanks sourkiwiz! I think it was Luna's post that worried me as I didn't want to be carrying around a big flashing sign that said "Im carrying a fake!" DMs getting a lotta customers from us TFSers! :)

I'm pretty sure the hardware was the only thing that was a dead giveaway
otherwise it felt very nice.

If anyone want's a very similar bag to the Balenciaga, but doesn't want to buy and actual fake that steals Balenciaga's logo, here are some knockoffs made by Besso. Their website, www.bessoinc.com says they are genuine leather, and they look pretty good:

When I looked at that same bag on the Besso site it said it was leatherette. Besso makes some leather bags but this one isn't included in their leather collection. I think it's easier/cheaper to get the soft squooshy feel with a synthetic than with real leather.

i recall finding some balenciaga knock-offs by Besso on ioffer for about $75.
They look pretty decent, but I noticed that the front zipper on the Besso bags were not silvery or brass (they were colored with the matching color of the bag). Other than that they were very much like the balenciaga bags, and the leatherette looked very distressed and slouchy B)

Alright, I broke down and ordered one from ioffer, brown large. It looks really good, and I'll let you know when I get it what it's like! $155 total.

finally got my two city bags from DM (took a bit longer than expected cuz he shipped them a few days after I paid). Anyway... here are the pictures I promised :flower:

The red and black are from DM, the small grey is from LuxuryDesigner.

The exterior of DM's bags was quite impressive, however I was a bit disappointed with the interior.
The leather is definitely distressed and the color (which I was a bit concerned about) are both lovely; but the inside lining turned out to be some cotton-like material instead of canvas (the one I got from LuxuryDesigner has canvas), and the inside zipper was black colored instead of the hardware color. I also noticed that LuxuryDesigner's "BALENCIAGA_PARIS" metal tag was identical to the real ones where as DM's metal tags did not have the _ underscore in between the words.
