Is Bare Minerals Worth Buying?

I don't know, to me, I'd rather just stick with what I know was the original and not faulty. Esp a company that copies packaging etc probably skimps on quality control.

What do you guys think of the Bare Minerals Primer? I'm looking for a primer and it has good reviews on makeup alley.... Any input? I wear Everyday Minerals makeup which is like Bare Minerals so...

it's good. it kind of smooths over the pores and you look more porcelain smooth.
i don't use it because i don't really have large pores.

I think it's excellent! I tend to get oily and this keeps me matte all day. Even Mr. Hipkitten uses it!

As for BE in general, I definitely think it's worth buying. It worked well for me for a couple of years. It's reasonably priced, easily accessible, and will work for most skin types. I did recently switch to EM (better color for my skin and wears longer) but there's no love lost for BE

Its getting more and more accessible too Hip...I saw it at Super Target today!

hmm is it worth it. i have acne and oily skin. and i cant wear 'visible' make up at school.

The first time I learned about bm I was really skeptical about using it. I just didn't think it could hide all the cystic ane and the redness and the scars..I was like "it's a powder, what could it possibly do when I now need a thick concealer, the maximum cover foundation by estee lauder and finishing powder on top to hide all this mess"..but I was also feeling really self consious about the thick coverage along with the acne..I mean I wasn't fooling anyone, plus it made me look 30 years older with so much makeup on me,my mom was always like "use less, use less you look like grandma ".Also, the visible makeup line in my jawline was always there and even when I talked on the phone the make up was rubbing off on it..and did I mentioned the pretty frequent touch ups?you rarely have acne without the oily mess too..:(
As I said in the acne thread I was ready to use accutane..I had enough and as you can tell the covering up was an extra problem and not a solution..
One day I went through this thread and I read all the positive reviews from people with acne and I thought it couldn't hurt to try..and so I did.
As you can see from my raves earlier in this thread I 'm ecstatic about it..the heavy acne is gone along with the heavy mask like make up..
I think it's the best make up especially for oily/acne types..
And as far as going undetected in school we had a teenage boy in this thread using it,so I think you have your answer!
No more jawline mistakes,no more cakeness,no more acne for god's sake!!I think it's degrading to call it make up..it's so much more..Even my mom is hooked now after seeing my skin improve so rapidly!!(and no more grandma jokes!!)
I think the best you can do is go through this thread,as it is the best research you can do..lots of different opinions and skin types and if you can find some samples from ebay..please try them!!
It changed my life,I hope it does the same for you!:flower::heart:

im going to get a sample.
does it have color? or is it just a translucid(?) powder?

mineral veil doesn't cover anything,it's a colorless powder that just sets the bare minerals foundation..only people with perfect skin can use it alone,it just takes the shine away..

BM didn't work out for me.. made me break out like mad. I was probably allergic or something. I'm keeping my mac studio fix :D

did you use too much?
i think if you put too much on, thinking you need a lot is when it can be weird.
the mineral veil also is just for the "candle light glow" it is what sets the "foundation minerals" I only use it when its hot or if I am going out for a special night.
Mineral veil just gives you an airbrushed look. people always ask me what I use on my skin and honestly, it's just BM..the try to get so close and they don't see anything.
and my skin improved.

my sister suffered from really bad acne, but the dermatologist suggested BM and she has never looked back. It goes on so nicely, made her 'glow'. It really helped her skin improve, hope it can do the same for others! :D

Hmm... I don't know if I'm applying it wrong or something, but I recently bought the starter kit and am just not happy with BM. I'm pretty fair with a few acne spots and it just didn't seem like BM was covering anything. I tried both foundation colors - and even mixed the two - but it just wasn't working. I guess I'll go back to my old makeup... but I am disappointed due to the great reviews I've heard.

I really like Bare Minerals, especially when I just want a quick, natural look.
I'm just curious, has anyone else felt it was itchy or a little irritating when it's very hot and humid out?

That's your skin reacting to the Bismuth Oxide in BE. It's one of the reasons I switched to EM; I couldn't stand the itching. I don't think it happens to everyone but it's not uncommon :flower:

I'm a very big fan of the mineral veil I sometimes just use it over different brand foundations. It gives me a nice finishing look and takes away shine.

If I wear it for too long, it does get pretty itchy. I have noticed this more when I am at his boyfriends house for too long because his mom is a heavy smoker.
