Isabel Marant F/W 2023.24 Paris

re: mens' specifically, I like this much better than previous output, but it's also just kinda... there.

Im kinda liking the leggings/tights w no foot (how would you call them?) ... I remember i used to wear those back in 2000's.
Love the leather pieces and those skinny Long sleeves dresses... Isabel is always fun, great casting

For a second, I thought she was doing Burberry (better than Lee lol). Not much to say about the collection itself. Another stellar casting, though. Kudos to casting directors this season.

The women's is nice. Sellable. Love the tights.

Can't remember a thing about the men's as it's always a non-event. I would rather wear Jacquemus. I wish her menswear was on par with the womens.

only THIS cast can save such a bland output.
the knitwear is amateur, the pearly embroideries on shein-level.

she seems totally lost lately. no signature statment at all to see.
i only like the shearling coats on stam and malgosia.

She should just stick to womenswear, these unisex shows honestly muddle the effectiveness of the clothes and they are not that great to begin with esp with the Sears Stirrup leggings and Jumpers lol. I actually like the menswear more esp the jackets. Great casting tho.

I really liked this collection. It's very pared back, a distillation of her codes and core aesthetic.

This may be somewhat retrospective - she recycled a print (I have a top in that exact print from 2010), many other shapes too. The outerwear is excellent.

Her shows have not been great the last couple of years, especially those built around some kind of theme (Californian, Navajo, etc.). So much better when she connects directly to her customer, as she did here.

Her men's is not THAT bad!

It's much better quality and there are some fairly nice pieces, they're just not the most exciting.

Barnabé Hardy does her menswear. He is the one behind the early days of Balenciaga menswear under Nicolas.
I think her menswear is clever because those looks can work on womenswear too.

She allows herself to have a menswear that can have the same level of fantasy as womenswear without being ridiculous. The whole silver look is very confident and I would be as confident in a woman.
That oversized Mac coat with the pants on Fernando Cabral is miles away from what Jacquemus can achieve.
