It's a Boy for Gwyneth

I thought they should have called it Bannana then they could have a whole fruit bowl with Clementine, Damson etc!:innocent:

Thank god they picked a normal name for their son.

I know quite a few guys named Moses. I've always liked that name.

I posted this in the Gwyneth thread bout thought I'd post it here as well.

Chris wrote a love song to Gwyneth when they first were falling in love called "Moses". It was never released (as far as I know) on any of their albums but Colplay added it to their live show for their spring/summer 2003 tour. I heard it live at their Toronto show... it's good but not a personal favorite.

For whatever reason the name Moses is associated for them around a time when they were falling in love... because of that I think it's the sweetest name for a child they created together

Congrats to them and everything but Moses? Do celeb couples just have a thing thinking its cool to find the most obscure name, its so pretentious. These kids are going to get the crap kicked out of them.

Don't like the name, but so nice to have a new baby. Good for them!:flower:

I think Apple and Moses sound rather odd together though...
"these are my kids, Apple and Moses"

Moses is a normal name?! I think it's incredibly pretentious and arrogant, just like her entire personality.

Why didn't they just call their son God, then?

or Jesus God Martin.

I also think she is sacrificing any sense of normalcy for her own children so that people will always talk about her in the media for giving her kids weird names.

Apple and Moses..... no other kids will like them... hahahahah

Moses is a name, I know someone with it...
I also know someone named Jesus... ( they both really like their names now...not when young)

and no, their parents aren't pretentious.

i feel sorry for the kid. being called Moses is a bit harsh, but spose its better than being named after a fruit!

I think this name is considered weird in the U.S. It actually may be very acceptable in other places. For example in Spain or Latin-American countries, lots of people are called Jesus. In Hong Kong, it's not rare to hear a girl called Apple or Cherry. So it depends where her kids are brought up I guess

There are 40 million hispanics living in the US so Moses should not be too weird of a name.

Was she even pregnant for 9 months? It seems like she was just 5 months pregnant. The article where she was seen drinking beer stated that she was 5 months pregnant.

She did a good job keeping it secret at the begining...
I don't think we found out until she was maybe 4-5 months along.

When I was younger I heard of this girl who's last name was Chandelier and her parents named her 'Crystal'

ive met half a dozen people with the name moses, they were all hispanic.

i just find it weird that they chose a name so commonly associated with another culture.

moses really isnt a jewish name, just because moses was a strong figure in the torah, jewish people do not name their kids that

Yes they do. You've never met a jew with the name Moishe or Moshe?
That is the yiddish and hebrew form of Moses. Trust me in the fact that there are quite a few of them living in Montreal.

I recently corrected exams for 3 classes and there were quite a few Moshes, Moishes and Moses with very jewish last names.

Plus every jewish deli in Montreal is called Moishe's Deli
