Jamie Lynn Spears is Pregnant...For Real!*Update* It's a Girl

I dont know if it has been discussed, but I want to know what everyone thinks.
I know this is kind of old but, do you think it's insane that when this first started spreading, the media tried to somewhat blame Lynn (the mother) and Britney for Jamie Lynn's pregnancy..

I mean, if they are going to blame anyone, it would be Jamie's fault.
She's the one who had sex with the boy, whether it was protected sex or not, i dont know so I'm not going to say she should have used protection.
But I also think its stupid that they try to pinpoint Lynn and Britney for this happening.

-_-

^Lynne as a mother, should've put some guidelines to her two kids. She shouldn't have pushed her kids into the industry.

I don't think she pushed Jamie in the industry as Jamie wanted to do it like her sister.

I dont think being in the spotlight really has to do with what Jamie Lynn does behind closed doors....

I could see it effecting Britney this bad because shes been in the spotlight since she was 17 and the media is constantly breathing down her neck,
but for Jamie.. I think thats just an excuse for her own mistake...

It's the mom's fault to a certain extent, but for a 21st century 16 year old girl to not have protected sex it's irresponsible and dumb. There's no excuse for not using condoms or taking birth control pills - unless this girl has been living in another planet for the past decade she has to know how to protect herself. She knew what she was doing but she probably thought it wasn't going to happen to her - that's what most women think anyway.

I agree. Birth control pills and condoms aren't foul-proof though... Condoms breaking isn't as rare as one might think, and I've known people who have gotten pregnant off the pill :ermm:
I don't think the mom can be blamed. She might have pushed her daughters into the spotlight... so what? 16 year old girls who aren't celebrities have sex and pregnant too.

^It's true (condoms break and pills fail). But there was a rumour not long ago about Jamie swearing off condoms and not wanting to take pills instead. If this is really true then we have enough proof of her stupidity. :(

Speaking of stupidity, it seems like the majority of the times when the Pill fails it's due to human error and not the pill itself.

I saw this one episode of True Life about pregnancy where this stupid girl got pregnant because she didn't use protection and she was like, " I didn't use protection because I didn't think I'd get pregnant."

What part of "it only takes one time" to people not understand?

A long time ago I met two girls who had forgotten to take the pill only one day and still had unprotected sex. They took two pills the day after thinking it would compensate for not taking it the day before. Of course both of them got pregnant and both of them had abortions. The poor babies had to pay for their ex-future moms' stupidity.

my aunt got pregnant while being on the pill..

then again, we dont know for 100% if Jamie decided not to use any sort of birth control/condoms, but then again we dont know if she did take precaution and just happened to get a faulty condom -_-

Birth controll is only 99%. So when someone has a lot of sex....pregnancy is not unlikely.

She was the one to make the mistake..and whatever she slept with. Unless you live under a rock these days, every 16 year old should know how to avoid geting pregnant.

But as you guys say, it takes a lot of sex to get pregnant even with protection so this girl has a bigger problem than stupidity then.

At the same time, there are foolproof ways of having sex without getting pregnant. Depending on how you define sex of course ;)

99% effective (for pill and/or condom) isn't very effective at all if you think about it. People who have sex and are on the pill don't plan on having it just once. Probability says they'll fail every 100 times (Of course, depending on time of month the probability of getting pregnant when protection is absent or fails is kind of low in itself), but overtimes it does not take a lot of sex to get pregnant.
And if Jaime Lynn really was too lazy to take the pill and/or didn't want to use condoms... if she took the time to see a doctor or visit a planned parenthood anywhere along the way there are other options. Depo Provera is much simpler and more effective as well...

This is very true...

One article said she didn't want to take the pill because it would make her fat. And apparently she didn't take condoms seriously. But in the back of my head, I get a feeling that Jamie wanted to get pregnant.
