Many girls wearing lolita in Japan and hk~

but are there any people wear it in european countries actually? ?___?

IMO, lolita isn't wearable at all , it's just like a kind of art

You're right, lolita like this is never seen on people in the European countries. I've heard someone say that the teenagers in Japan, Korea, and HK are so oppressed in most areas of their lives, and clothes are one rare outlet to express oneself. I'm not sure how true this is because I haven't been there.

seraphelle, i think you might be on to something. it seems as if the english have a similar style of irreverent, deconstructed dress favoring the punk aesthetic such as vivienne westwood. camden town comes to mind.

Hi Travolta and Seraphelle and Kerry, you are exactly right.

Gothic Lolita is not a fashion trend here, it's a very specific "movement" that's been around for...I think decades, in various forms. And yes, it is very true that these people go to Harajuku dressed in all sorts of gothic styles (wrapped head to toe in bandages, dressed as dark doctors, piercings all over, etc.) as an outlet to their "angst"; they openly admit it themselves. They have found a community there where they can share their hurt, sensitive, repressed selves with others who share the same feelings.

That's very observant of you Travolta, I think you are right; it is exactly a kind of punk movement. I think the English and the Japanese are so similar in many ways.

I also think it's a healthy and necessary outlet for a repressed country with the highest depression rate in the world...:(

So unless in very diluted forms and influences here and there, I doubt Gothic Lolita will ever become an all-out trend here, it's more an either you are one or you aren't kind of thing.

 oh no, never in my life... I think you'd have to hang around a certain area to be photographed by these people. Harajuku, Omotesando, Ginza, Shibuya...
Sadly, I hardly even go to those places these days. Maybe some day ;)

ya know, everyone thinks Japanese street style is a bunch of mix and match with really no thought in it, but it does hane a certain class to it, i've seen girls try to pull it off and their outfits just dont flow the way they're supposed too.
