I do read Japanese magazines myself and i have an asian/oriental background and i just wanted to point out that not everyone (like in the west) is mad about jennifer lopez. :flower:
Of course not everyone is mad about JLo.
But there are people who like that style and try to get that look.

:flower:
yep yep couldnt agree more....

well saying "chinese" (on its own) might not be racist but i find it quite offensive when someone says an individual is trying to look like someone famous but they're "chinese"... Especially when they're not.

OFF TOPIC:
i got a friend who is the WHITE version of EDDIE MURPHY and thats just one example of comparison and i doubt its offensive at all. i dont think it was intended to be a racist comment anyway..i agree that most people wtill cannot differentiate chinese/japanese/etc. but they probably cannot always idetify each european or western origin ;)

so lets try and see it in a lighter mood everyone :flower: and stay on topic (which i love  )

TNX

Ok i know what you mean leyla m. no offense but how can your friend be the white version of Eddie Murphy?? Do you mean by their personality, looks??
Its silly to say that someone is the "chinese" version of Jennifer Lopez by their hair..clothes..make up etc.

i dont think so dear...whoever wrote that is just being judgemental. Not everyone is so obsessed with looking like jennifer lopez or whatever she calls herself.
well, just like what I've mentioned in my previous post, getting the looks of JLo and some other western celebs is really part of their fashion.
in Japanese magazines, they have detailed pictures and analyses of JLo, Britney, etc, including outfits, shoes, bags, makeups, and hair, and teach you step by step on how to get those looks.
 I've never seen that in the mags I subscribe to. Which ones do you read?

A lot of the Japanese girls are wearing now will be what Americans are wearing in two years . . . with a few conservative, Western modifications thrown in.

such adorable style

am i the only one that thinks kate moss gets a lot of inspiration from japanese street fashion?

When I was in Toronto this winter, I went to the Pacific Mall. They had a lot of the sales girl dressed like this. I wish I had a camera phone just so that I could take their pics and post them here. A lot of the pics here reminds me of the way the girls were dressed at the pacific mall. It was preety nifty. (eww, i said nifty)

Oh! :bounce: I love the Pacific Mall so much punkie!
I went there back in grade eleven for one of my friend's birthdays and it was amazing! I got my first taste of bubbletea and have since become a bit of an addict... Also, did you try those photobooth things?! There are just so many options in terms of colours and backgrounds. Personally, I think the Japanese are way more advanced entertainment wise. And those dance machines- the greatest! I haven't had the chance to go back there yet (it's bit far for me) but I have the greatest memories! I so want to go shopping there again...
