wow. cool. this is probably just because i'm so ignorant about other culture's fashion but i always thought that japanese street style was mostly funky stuff (and i'm not saying that as a bad thing, because my cousin is half japanese) but some of these outfits i'm really loving.

That first outfit in post #1021 I would actually wear... even though he's a guy and I'm not. Instead of red boots I'd probably wear red skimmers or ballet flats though.

I just came back from Asia (specifically Japan & Hong Kong), and I could be wrong, but it seemed like there was a hippie/boho trend going on. I saw quite a few incense-filled stores selling long peasant skirts, tie-dye stuff, lots of crocheted items, wooden beaded jewelry, ethnic accents, etc. Some of the people even had dreads and whatnot. But then again, those were just small boutiques so

I dress this way too sometimes, but it's all starting to seem a bit contrived. I'm over the pointy shoes, and the MK-esque layering. It's becoming too formulaic for my liking.

i think japanese street fashion has always been about layering....if u go to the trendy area in japan of shibuya, girls there are always layering tops...more so now though because of the whole boho thing....

^ yeah, if you go back to the early phases of this thread (which was started before this summer's boho trend), it's pretty clear that the layering effect has been a consistent feature in japanese street style for a while. I agree though that it certainly has been enhanced by this summer's trends.
