God, how do they make themselves so white?! In some pictures, the girls are paler than those death-metal-goth-rah-rah-let's-slit-our-wrists punters in my school. I wonder what products they use...

what about make-up???B) ;)

I went to Japan a few months ago... I remember Harajuku. I also remember Akiba quite vividly as well... ;)... wasted some of my money on games! Then after a couple of weeks, I went to Korea(I am Korean/French) and found myself back in a country where there is basically 3 styles of clothing. Tee Hee. ^_^

This is a great thread, five stars. I like alll the pictures.

well as far as white skin goes, I know some of them use, ah, like chemicals, or whatever to actualy take the color out of their skin. Sounds weird, but I think actualy not that hard to do, and not harmful.
and yeah, also like just white powder. I like it. usualy.

not harmuful? i'm not sure what you mean by that, goosemaster.
i'm mean it's the pigment of the skin, right? without it we are exposed to the sunlight in dangerous ways. we could get cancer. i think that's harmful.
i know that the japanese like going to extremes, and that might be just their lifestyle, but is it a healthy society right now? i've seen the news and it's all about economy, suicide, consumerism and promiscuity. :ninja:
hope i'm wrong.

thanks so much for the link, anais... I've just spent quite a while checking out all the links that she's posted under the pics. while that page seems a bit short on male street style, there are a lot of guy pics in the tune 1, tune 2, etc links...

may I also say again, I  japanese boy's hair.

Me Too!! Hot!
And there is so much 'fruits' stuff on LJ, it's great! Especially that page, with all the links! :)

Yes it's an extreme culture, but I think 'we' (as in the west) enjoy exagerating Japan's extremes. I'd love to go into it more but I'm thinking it's the wrong thread. About lightening their skin. I dont know too much about it, a friend of mine in japane mentioned it. I doubt it's a life or death thing. That is to say you probly are more likely to die worrying about it then doing it. oh. Its not a permanent lightening I dont think. Just temperary. I'm sure.:flower:

Yes, it is temporary. Wwell, i know that in Thailand, and i think in China and Japan, you can buy lightening lotion, just as we buy tanning lotion. I find the contrast between us (westerners) striving to be more tanned, and them wanting to have a more pallor complexion, quite ironic, and funny.
