thanks SophieKawaii!!! also, jeans would be too hott to wear, right? and i heard that jeans are a "no no" in japan bc they are too informal?

^ I don't think it's too informal. Of course it depends on where you go and how old you are. :smile:
Actually i don't know how can they wear so tight skinny jeans (esp guys) when it's so hot and humid. I would prefer loose jeans.

Pack alcohol wipes and a spare t-shirt wherever you go. You'll regret it if you don't...nowt worse than walking around with a huge sweat patch on your back. I live in Auckland which is crazy humid.

ooh dear! it sounds like it going to be sooo hot! maybe i should pack a sweatband? haha. to answer your question I'm 20. I think I'm going to be visiting all over, I think like Shibuya and Ginza (I think I completly butchered the spelling of those words). And thank you both for the advice! Would flip flops be too informal do you think? Bc i keep on hearing how pulled together/ proper the Japanese dress, and since I'm from LA, i dress really casual all the time!

^ I don't know where you heard this informal thing, but it's wrong. :blush: Just look at this thread. If you are too informal in jeans and flip flops, most Japanese are homeless. :P Take it easy and enjoy! :smile:
I'm near Tokyo from next week Sunday, maybe we can meet sometime if you want. :wink:

It will be hot but not ridiculously hot, it's just the humidity that gets you. Alcohol wipes, alcohol wipes, alcohol wipes. Spare shirt! You'll be fine. It's just as well that big bags are in fashion so you can prepare yourself. Just don't wear a backpack. You'll die in a pool of sweat.

you're welcome keroppi! i love the girl's yellow, grey and white printed dress.

LAlights, i'm sure you'll notice locals carrying around little hankies as well - they sell them everywhere, from convenience stores to big department stores, and they come in very handy!

I arrived to Japan yesterday. I'll take pix on the streets later after i manage to kill jet lag.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but I just found this article about street fashion photographers in Tokyo - an interesting glimpse into what's going on at the other side of the camera lens.

What is in this green bag next to your photo equipment?

Please don’t take a photo of that! This is confidential. We are sponsored by a shoe-maker today, so we look out for interesting boys and ask them to wear those shoes with their outfit for our street-shooting.
:innocent::D

got me thinking, actually... Here it is:
