2nd!

every time I look at this thread I fall in love with the outfits posted  sigh

ooh... i love the japanese style. actually it's quite similar with hongkong fashion. they really have this unique flavor, and funky as well. i go to hongkong every summer to buy new stuff and i would have to say i get more for less. i mean i so love the stuff i buy from there, and it's relatively cheap. I think I recognize those streets, that's in Hong Kong (I think it's either Tsim Sha Tsui or Causeway Bay area)....i think Japanese street style is a lot more stylish than HK style.

Did anyone else watch America's Next Top Model tonight? The entire show revolved around Japanese street style.

However i'm very very very dissapointed in the girl's attittude toward Japanese street fashion, I mean common your supposed to be Amerikas top model and you have no clue that Japanese style is sooooooooooooo advanced???

Jeez when EVA won she said "ohhh I just put the most stoopiest items together possible to achieve my look"...

My gosh I can't believe those girls have no concept nor do the appreciate the complexity of Japanese street fashion...

Silly girls...

On another note the photo shoot setup was amazing and the hair & makeup on the models was beyond this world.... I LOVED IT!!! girls pictures however were horrid..

I read about that, totally ignorant and Euro-centric. :yuk:

yeah I was very disappointed with their attitude and lack of respect toward the japanese street style which has so much inspiration to offer.

I think they were so rude in their perception of they style. It's wonderful and it's a pitty they couldn't grasp it. Another thing they must learn is that even if they don't get another "culture" they must learn to appreciate it for what it is. Each culture and it's fashion etc are a form of art.

I completely agree.... talk about culture... Its part of the Japanese culture to be POLITE, the least the girls could have done is return the politeness...

Yaya spitting out that food in another episode and the girls smirking and sneering at the clothes during their street fashion fitting... Just killed my respect for them, I think this show is getting to thier heads... :ninja:

They should have been more respectful, but I must admit, I pretty much agreed with them. :ninja: I mean, seriously, Eva put on the most ridiculous-looking, mismatched clothes she possibly could and won the competition. I think that's saying something... :innocent:

I'm just on the metamorphose site right now (it was listed back near the beginning of this thread and the girls went there on the show) and I just love so much stuff. But at the same time I think when you are doing a lot of these looks it helps be thin and have a very petite frame because if you are doing a lot of layering or odd proportions it generally suits a smaller frame.

yeah good point given the average japanese girl weighs under 120 pounds ha ha...

Does anyone have pictures of the model who won that contest? I'd like to see what she looks like and what she was wearing, so I'd appreciate it if you could post pics. Thanks :flower:
