This is excrutiatingly boring. It's just like Jil Sander.
I can't believe I got a buzz every time I remembered this show was out today . .
Note to self: Never get excited.

^ hahaha. thats exactly how i'm feeling. heck i even wrote it on my calender

if you take away the looks with the drawings on them...then you're left with stuff hes done before (ss08 comes to mind a lot), with maybe one button or two or just in a different texture.

i have no idea why, but the last picture of raf made me lol irl...:s

after seeing the entire collection, i like it. it's very standard jil sander, nothing new, really safe. i actually preferred the last seasons and even the color blocking last s/s to this.

raf always does it right. even if the collection isnt completely new (it seems a lot of designers are playing it safe this season), the fit and cut of the clothes is always perfect, that anyone can appreciate.

this collection easily wins the day -- to use political campaign parlance. raf simons has created the most delightfully fresh and inventive new look -- who knew about foujita before this show?! -- while staying true to the jil sander lines we all love from that house.

not only has raf actually managed to come up with many "must have" pieces in a recessionary environment zapping designers of their creativity -- i mean, $200 marlon brando tanktops anyone? -- but he's managed to create an entire LOOK that will trickle downmarket.

There are a few good looks here, but none of them are new. We've seen this kind of aesthetic before at Sander; like Kushie said, at the Spring 2008 show.

I don't find this exciting in any way. If you take out all the classic looks, you're left with a very weak assortment of 'show pieces'. I like the illustrative decoration on the pants and shirts, but there wasn't enough of it to make a strong statement.

Disappointed with Raf this year. I haven't liked one collection he has done, for Mens or Womens. Last year was much more dynamic and inventive for Raf and Jil Sander, no?

I'm not feeling this completely, but i'm going to give it a chance. i guess I came expecting severe tailoring and found exactly the opposite. never underestimate raf's ability to shock!
it's good to see that he feels so comfortable going from graphic silouhettes and blocky colours, to these light and comfy looks. There is no boundaried rationality that prevents him from experimentig with a let's call it 'unusual aesthetic' as this would be. (what I really have in mind are the words late 90s globe trotting and tacky...however, I don't dare using them because I'm getting an odd cool vibe out of the whole thing that I still need to figure out... possible prada effect? time will tell)

I've never been a print kind of person, but as a new proposition of lightest (both in weigth and colour) I like it. after all, there are several good pieces and the whole thing is a lot more refreshing than any of the oher collections presented not just today but any other recent season.

Its very fitting with the times. Given the worlds recent economic crisis, minimalism is very much what life is about for so many people and the collection is a reflection of that. I did expect better tailoring however. I guess it seems a bit unfinished.

I guess H&M doesn't need to copy this: they are THIS!

Thanks but no thanks. The clothes don't match the price. I don't think I will be willing to pay the Jil Sander prices to plain white tank tops and boring everything else.

Thanks but no thanks. It is frigid and barren in every way.

this is most likely raf's best work with jil sander yet

reading through the comments, i wonder to myself - what is everyone expecting from jil sander?

this IS jil sander - extremely sharp cuts, great fabrics, and very clean. the label, even with raf simons at the helm, is not looking to push boundaries but instead work within limitations of this specific brand's vision.

well said. what's remarkable remains that raf has found away to push the envelope while staying entirely true to the vocabulary of the house. i can't wait to see what he dreams up for the rtw....

i find his clothes too feminine , ditto the models , while his women RTW is great his menswear is horrible , was a castrated man his muse or something??

I like the knit (I think) jacket in #40, but the rest are, um...
