Jil Sander Uomo AW 05/06 Milan

the pics from modaonline look a lot more decent than the ones in the first posts..still, it's a boring-looking collection.

This look is great

I agree veyr prada style, I supos this is her last collection then, or will the next womens wear be?

She wishes this looked like Prada or Miu Miu. Looks more like Gap FW 1994, witht he exception of some of the outerwear and a very few select other pieces.

I actually like it...including the nerdy plaid shirts. :ninja: not exciting or original, but the lines and colours are pleasant and the clothes have a nice drape to them...

^ I love this outfit.

Hmm...this is not for me, although I do like some of the suits I am seeing. But the sweaters are too mid-40's-rich-people-go-hiking-in-Aspen

The collection is not very fancy / inventive. I don't like the plaid shirts neither.

I think I miss sth here, the crisp fabrics, the colours are not very Jil, arent' they? So is the plaid shirt. She would make it more subtle:-)

The slightly rounded shoulder is kind of sth new, imo. And stripes in suits?

Does this

has an air of "sportyness" in it?:-) I think Jil never mixed formal and sport together.

The collection is nice, love the trench, too:-). But it's not very Jil imo. Maybe this is what they intended to do.

i like these little jackets but they are very prada. the rounded shoulder - well spotted nqth - yes its nice. its all just a bit dulls-ville is it not?

Hey I see a lot of coolness here. Especially the pleated trouser. Who'd of thought that
it could look cool again after all the plain fronts for tha last ten years., The Coats with the wide lapels playing off the narrow lapels and narrow shoulders on the suits with the wide trousers. This is cool. It looks fresh even though the cleanliness reminds us of others. I am feeling this big time.

In terms of originality, lets face it, it has all been done before, but she always does it well. It think it still fits with what she has always stood for.

The play on proportions here is great and it is seamless. The thread just runs flawlessly. Simply great clothing. I cant wait to see it up close.

very cute.. and yes, its a bit of a Prada-ish look but i dont mind the clothes, basic, classics.. very commercial but yes, not very Jil.. not at all

this suit is so dope, i love how the shoulders are tailored.

very funny...but who do you think is the customer?...probably that very person you mention...

so it seems appropriate...i know several architects and designers who would snatch that up for a ski or snowboarding trip...... :flower:

i do love the shrunken jkt and the rounded shoulders that ngth pointed out...actually seems very 60's rat pack to me...which is a good thing...

Ditto!!

I HATE plaid shirts. I'll echo the cheap Prada and Express statements. Highly disappointing.

Am I the only one seeing the eddie bauer influence here? Seriously the first couple of outfits I could have bought for my dad there. I still love the suits though. And pleated pants being seen as fresh? Hate to break it to you but middle america and actually most middle aged men and woman STILL wear pleated pants. It never really went 'out' there.

Meg, your point is well taken, but I dont think middle aged midwestern people are the people they are trying to reach, or are influenced by. I think the pleated trousers here do look good.Style or trendy people have not touched pleated pants for a long time. Just an opinion. Also a person with their own true style can pretty much shop anywhere and come out looking great. Eddie Bauer's included. But I do not like the plaid shirt either. :flower: I'd take her version over Eddies anyday.

i find the D&G/versace/costume national collections much more boring than this one
