LENA
You're SOOOOO right , AS ALWAYS !!!
As I've said in my Dior Homme post , these clothes , or possibly their styling primarily , are WAY WAY too camp .
I am a gay man , but I have NEVER been able to stomach that outre gay exhibitionism ( like SCOTT
mentions ) as evinced by the various incarnations of Mardi Gras in Canal Street , Manchester , London , Sydney , or wherever . I'm NOT talking GAY PRIDE here , as that's another matter ENTIRELY . It's just the way out there , look at me , aren't I outrageous , prancing ' drag 'theatrics , that just arn't MY style .
I'm afraid this is what these clothes , or their presentation says to me imho .
As the ' pansy ' general said about WW2 " ,
" It couldn't be LESS my cup !
My dear ! The NOISE and the PEOPLE ! " .
PS
ANOTHER consideration , for both John Galliano Men , AND Dior Homme , are the PRICES !!! ( see post by Selfridgesworker ) .
If I'm going to spend the money , I'm afraid it would NOT be on these Galliano clothes , however cleverly designed . That's not to say that there is not brilliance at work here , the trousers cut on the bias sound FANTASTIC .
I pay all due respect to John Galliano's brilliance , but it's Hedi Slimane who's got it right THIS time .
Incidentally , have you noticed that Slimane , Galliano , Lang , Delcour , et al have put the PARIS Men's shows right back up there !!!!
MILAN was good as always , but Paris has been sublime .
"TWO FINGERS up to ANNA ' NUCLEAR ' WINTOUR " say I !!!!!
