I have read a few of John's interviews, and I think that he says things for attention. I don't believe his apology. How could a white man (or any man for that matter) not know that calling black people the n-word and comparing your penis to white supremacy would not be seen as offensive? He knew but like he said he was "trying to be clever" and say things for attention. But this time he got caught saying something offensive that is sensitive to a group of people and most of the media is not on his side, now he is stuck with no other choice but to apologize. And for Lady B, I know you said in the first page that you think he his really sorry in the youtube video. But do you really think that he could laugh it off if he wanted to save his image? No! Not if he wanted people to stop being angry at him and keep this from getting worse. he had no choice but to apologize and put on his I am sorry face. That is just how it is done in Hollywood. For the people who said that blacks say the n word all the time, we are not talking about that. Stop making excuses. We are talking about a specific incident. Many blacks are still offended by that word, no matter who uses it. Also there is one thing that separates him from blacks using that word and that is intent. Remember in the 70's blacks decided to take back the word (and I want to add that "taking back" offensive terms NEVER work, because of its sensitive history) but when it comes from someone outside the black race, there is still sensitivity there. And I am not saying that it should be used by anyone, just saying why a white man saying it is more offensive than a black man saying it.
