Sure, Brown is a cute kid with some decent dance moves, but a Best New Artist of 2006? His first single, ''Run It!,'' was a blatant rip-off of Usher's ''Yeah!'' and that's the best tune on his self-titled debut. There were other examples of general lameness and laziness in this year's announcement, like a nod to Pharrell's commercial and critical dud In My Mind in the Best Rap Album group and the inexplicable inclusion of the John Mayer Trio's Try! in the Best Rock Album category (for one, it's a wanky blues album, not a rock record, and secondly... well, it stinks).

I'm in denial about it, but I have a serious crush on him now. I never cared for his music, but ever since I learned that he got a Dundie award for letting his song be on my favorite tv show, The Office, I was curious about his music. (You'd know what i mean by Dundie if you watch The Office.) At once, I fell in love with the live version of the song "Gravity." I bought Continuum and can't stop listening to it.

yeah i am so looking forward to it. contiuum is a really nice album, much more mature than the others although i love all his cds. and you're right, he is hilarious. he's also very relatable to me at least because i find myself agreeing with everything he says..we are quite alike. i'll post my favourite youtube clips of him soon
