some of his songs are alright... it's just like... easy listening or something, nothing terribly exciting imo.
i've actually heard he's terrible in concert. he played at my other school and some ppl i know who saw him said he was pretty bad.

Totally agreed with all of that. Mediocre at best. It seems to me that most people who listen to him have never heard the artists he wishes he was.

I like 'Daughters'...but that's about it. I worked his concert w/ Maroon 5 over the summer and got the worst headache from all the girls constantly shrieking. He does make weird face when he sings..something about his mouth...

i like his music he's one of my favorites .. 'clarity' is my favorite song ever .. i think he's talented. his latest cd 'heavier things' is really great .. he reminds me alot of jack johnson

I think he's a truly talented guitarist. I haven't heard enough songs to judge really, but I know he's good at what he does... The only songs I've heard I'm not really absorbing, not my type. I saw him on Chappelle's Show, he was amazing with the guitar although he was made fun of. -__-

^ I adore his Trio work! I think it speaks much stronger to who he actually is and reflects his musical influences... He's much more of a bluesy guy at heart than a main stream ballad type. I apprieciate the risk he took to be true to himself and what he really likes, while possibly abandoning his teeny-bopper fans... But the risk turned out fabulous.

"Vultures" reminds me so much of Hall and Oats... love it

I always feel like with John Mayer, you'd be able to have really cool conversations about stuff cos he seems to know a lot and comes across as quite intelligent and always has a lot to say, but at the same time there is a certain amount of arrogance there that comes with it.
