I guess the reason I don't like Juicy is because it immediatly brings to mind a fifty year old mom in Beverly Hills with a new boob job sleeping with the pool boy. Don't mean to be harsh, but those prejudices are hard to supress.
I think thier tshirt with saying on them is cute, but they've really ran out of quotes methinks, cause now theyre soo random and stupid. One Im surprised they havent done is a womens shirt that reads "Juicy Girls like Juicy Boys" and the mens shirts would read 'Juicy Boys like Juicy Girls" and "Juicy Boys like Juicy Boys," of course the latter would be far more readily available and would probably sell out
.
They really have tapped a gay audience with JuicyMen (they should change it to Homme, that would really be the icing). With a whole collection of Hier to the Throne pieces, like tshirts, polos (I own) and tracksuits. And the Killer Queens tshirt written in lipstick. Also thier new terry polos with the crest on the breast is moving like crazy my SA tells me, most popular color? Pink.
As a brand with so much potential Im extremely interested in Juicy, while thier image is less than fashionforward Juicy, with the right mangement and brand direction, could become a mainstream fixture, much like Coach...affordable luxury.
Im impressed though, in about a year, they've added Juicy Men, a sunglasses collection, shoes line and expanded thier handbag and jewelry line. All of it keeps the Juicy look and feel, and Im so impressed by thier quality control, its on par with Ralph Lauren, who
never miss a beat. Ive heard Juicy sunglasses are questionable, but since they
just came out and are probably a license Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. I havent heard any feedback regarding thier shoes.
I really can't wait to see where this brand will go, and to be honest, Id love to be apart of thier development. Especially since I think they need to move a little bit up market, since they're getting
too overexposed.
