Juicy Couture

Im not a huge fan of Juciy...the trousers with the JUICY written on the *** looks silly..i mean you're really asking for it! lol

Also, i dont think many people wear juicy from where im from so its not that popular YET...hope it stays that way :yuk:

At the moment, I am hoarding a couple of metres of olive-green chiffon with gold chainstitch embroidery. It will become a kimono-shaped overblouse, when I clear out a few customer projects and can devote a little time to my own sewing.

OT: You MUST post a pic once it's done. That sounds so wonderful.

Agreed

Could this , by any chance , be connected with the kimono jacket pattern by Alexander McQueen from the SHOWSTUDIO website ?

KIT B)

No, it's actually nothing to do with the McQueen jacket, unfortunately. That pattern damn well defeated me. Nothing is labelled, and some of the pieces don't even bear a passing resemblance to any bit of a garment I have ever seen.

No the kimono overblouse I am making is this one.

I want to love the ShowStudio patterns, but I can't get the Galliano printed, I already have a top a lot like the Yamamoto, and I can't figure out how to put the McQueen together. I suck.

Gawd, the topic. I'm sorry, Mods. I will shut up now.

i used to be really obsessed with juicy until 2 of my zippers broke off my hoodies, and every1 started wearing it so i have started to stop buying it. However i still buy basics from them; bermuda shorts, jeans, skirts, tanks..nothing that says their logo anymore(god i cant stand those new cherry logos  ) right now mine juicy collection is-

6 hoodies 1 fleece,1 cashmere, 2 velour, 2 terry
1 pair of jeans(which i live in)
2 pants 1 fleece, 1 terry
1 pair green bermuda shorts
2 skirts 1 terry, 1 jean
1 bowling bag 1 pair socks 1 pair black flipflops
and a bunch of shirts

i still love juicy but the quality is such crap :(

I only own one piece of Juicy.. and it' sjust the black smocked tubedress thing... Great for summer and the beaches.

Everything else of Juicy I pretty much hate.

I love it when I'm walking down 27th street behind a girl with a really schlumpy *** (wearing her Juicy sweats) and her one cheek goes up, and I read JOO and the other cheek goes up.. and I read SEE

So as she walks say in my head JOO... SEEE... JOOOOOO.... SEEEEEE!

Now if only her *** had something more intellectual for me to read.

I have a white veloury jackety thingy and a black terry hoodie thingy from a few years ago and that's about it... I find the pants are extreeemely unflattering  and often make even not "schlumpy" ***es look very very schlumpy and lumpy and all of that lovely imagery
I must admit some people pull off the tube dress very well though and I haven't seen any of them on the streets (yet) as it's still pretty ARCTIC here...

i love my tubedress.. it's super comfy.. but 80 some dollars for terrycloth does seem a little weird... good thing my mom bought it for me. :ninja:

Never mind , Chucks

The pattern you show is as beautiful as one could wish .
You really must be talented and patient to be able to make such gorgeous things , but I'm only a ham - fisted male .

Best of luck with the making , when you can find the time for yourself .

WoW! Thanks for all your posts guys! It's interesting ( and funny!) to read about all your gripes with Juicy! I thought I was the only one who thought Juicy was overated, but I guess not! And I don't know where all you guys are from, but Juicy stuff sounds really cheap $. Where I live, a Juicy terry/velour suit costs about $600! Crazy eh?!

I have a couple of velour hoodies (not juicy brand :ninja: ) that I wear with jeans but I can't picture myself actually wearing a matching set.

the pants are really comfy to wear around the house and when i'm too lazy to put on jeans, but like, every girl in my school wears juicy, and they have so much of it it sickens me. i only have like one shirt, on pair of velour and one pair of terry cloth, and one of the hoodies, and a sweater that zips up with the j zipper pull, but i think i'm allergic to it.

thanks, i'm so glad i found this place, cuz i was looking for fashion runway muisc for a school project, and i googled it, and it got me here

I cant stand how Juicy is now stealing bag ideas from other designers..that lowers my opinion.... :yuk:

I have only 2 velour suits of Juicy for the days I am just lazy and wanna be comfy. And actually, the quality isn't all that bad...mine is not falling apart after many washes and wear and tear days.

and I have the tee shirt that says "Dude, Where's my Couture???"

I will never be obsessed with it ever though...

and to be honest...I didn't even buy these Juicy stuff myself. My boyfriend got it for me because I complained that I was lazy  and all I had left clean was mini skirts galore...So he picked em up for me(such a sweety  ). while he ran errands..

I don't think I would have gotten one if it wasn't for him buying em for me.

you know what?
come to think of it:

JUICY is so UNimportant that its not even worth thinking if its worth it or not.
in the U.S. its so cheap (sorry, but it really is  . a Puma or Adidas tracksuit is maybe 20 dollar cheaper) that i would probably buy loads to wear at home or when im going out to get some bread!
in fact i just realised that i have 3 (!!) juicy pants, 1 juicy jacket, 3(!!) polo teeshirts.... and i didnt even know they were JUICY until i cleaned out my closet.
except for the pants of course. (all were bought when i was living in NY)

so as a conclusion, they are so boring that for that price i dont really wanna waste my energy to think whether they are COOL or not....i frankly dont care as long as i got no addiction and i dont wear them out when i meet people

:flower:
