Kanye West Douche Watch 2009: Taylor Swift Edition

why do you assume we all watch MTV-it's been unavoidable news over the past week!
I don't get why it's so wrong to defend a teen against the idiotic decisions of grown man. If some old guy was picking on a kid, I hope none of us hesitate to help that kid out in heartbeat.

apples and oranges. Defend her all you want, i don't care. The issue is that it's being blown out of proportion, like it's the worse thing a human being can do. please.

Isn't MTv the one that put someone's butt hole in Eminem's face? I laughed at it just like I laughed at this. It's just a video award show ***Edited ***

about the Kanye outburst...

as what Vanessa Williams said, "I am a mother! How would you feel if that was your child (Taylor Swift)!"

I wonder if the level of anti-Kanye comments and an actual thread would exist if he jumped onstage with Jordin Sparks or Rihanna? Hmm...

yah it definitely wasn't staged, i saw Taylor on the View the other day and she talked about it, i dont think she would make all that up...

And what a jerk Kanye West is, i mean if your going to apologize to someone, don't do it on your own blog! my god

Kanye West's History of Outbursts....

Oh gee, let's see... his many angry comments...
  1. 2007 MTV Music Awards :the rapper declared that he would "never return to MTV" after Britney Spears was chosen to open the show instead of him. West performed his single "Stronger" in a suite at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas for the show, rather than on the main stage like Spears. At a pre-VMA private performance, West said during a song, "I can't believe she [Britney Spears] would perform. She hasn't had a hit record in years."
  2. 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards :At the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards, West got on stage after his video "Touch the Sky" lost to Justice and Simian's video "We Are Your Friends."
  3. 2005 Hurricane Katrina Telathon: George Bush doesn't care about black people." Myers stood frozen, and then the camera cut off.
  4. 2004 American Music Awards : Not one to easily accept losing, one of Kanye West's most famous tirades came during the 2004 American Music Awards, when the opinionated rapper left the show after losing the Best New Artist Category to country singer Gretchen Wilson. He told reporters backstage, "I felt like I was definitely robbed, and I refused to give any politically correct bullsh--*** comment. ... I was the Best New Artist this year."
  5. 2009 MTV Video Music Awards: The infamous Taylor Swift diss.

So, no. Kanye will never do what he did to the Rihannas and the Jordin Sparks. He knows what he's doing. Nothing mental about him. He's very aware of his actions. It's just for so long we allow his idiocyncracies, up until September 13, 2009.

50 Cent Wants to Give Kanye West a Black Eye

50 Cent says that if West had taken away his award, he'd be getting a taste of a 50 Cent knuckle sandwich.

"I wish he would come take one of my awards so I could black his eye in front of everybody," he said on MuchOnDemand.

He added, "Even an apology can't replace what it feels like for the very first time receiving that award. In Taylor Swift's head, 'My first award was Kanye West.' It's damaging."

** 50Cent is a better man. Much respect to him! :mohawk:

This is an awesome statement from 50 cent.

I say... Kanye west, get the f*** over yourself. Maybe there are more AMAZING and APPRECIATIVE people out there that actually are good-hearted, aka taylor swift, who clearly appreciates her award!!! Leave it alone Kanye. youre just NOT that great...

And I wonder if Kanye would've jumped up onstage if it had been Kelly Clarkson or Katy Perry who had "one of the greatest videos of all time".

It's good of him to stand up for Taylor, but it's kind of ironic. 50Cent himself pulled off a similar stunt at the Grammys one year. The band Evanescence won the "best new artist" award that year, and 50Cent walked up on stage at the moment that Evanescence was handed their award. He didn't say anything, but just stood there, and then walked off. However, someone who was at the Grammys that night said that 50Cent was later escorted out of the building.

perhaps you need to see the video to see what actually happened on stage with Everscence. It was no way a Kanye Taylor dissing moment that is for sure.

ETA:
and lets not forget the age difference of Evanescence than that of Taylor Swift. Which puts it into perspective why it's such a hot topic.

Judging Kanye's behavior? He would, if it was Rihanna or Jordin Sparks. So that brings us back to my original question...

Oh
I only just noticed the title-did you come up with it Harumi?-because it's hilarious
Glad I made you laugh...^_^
I'd rather the news be infiltrated with discussions of Healthcare, the ending of the war in Afghanistan, or the current situations in Iran or other nations in tumultuous times, than some foolishness committed at the MTV awards.
The issue is more that mainstream American news media have gone down in quality and standards. Especially TV news networks: when you have 24h to fill and sponsors to please, quality journalism isn't top priority.
If you are bothered by the Kanye coverage infiltrating legitimate news, I suggest you turn off the TV and pick up the NYT and Newsweek.
I don't know, since you've quoted my entire post, one can't help but take it personal, non?
That part wasn't directed to you personally. It was an aside and that is why I added a double space between that and the rest of my post.

I really think that in any controversial situation involving a famous person, some fans can really be ridiculous in their defence of their favourite celebrities. Just like the girls who were fangirling for Chris Brown at his court hearings, for example.
This was my point and not a personal attack.

PS: I feel really sad for the people who are trying to turn this into a race issue. If people were so racist there would not have been such a immense outburst of public support for Rihanna a few months ago.
Yes, it would have been a big deal if Kanye had done that to any popular young woman and if that singer had been so obviously upset as Taylor, regardless of race.

And I wonder if Kanye would've jumped up onstage if it had been Kelly Clarkson or Katy Perry who had "one of the greatest videos of all time".

I can't imagine him doing it to Kelly Clarkson  I think she could probably take him :P

PS I love the way he says 'jackass' ... a classic moment for sure.

lol I would have loved to see Kanye do what he did to Pink. She would have made his face bleed.
But he decided to diss Taylor instead, the cute innocent country singer. How cowardly.

I havn't read the whole thread but since everyone is wondering "what would happen if", what if it were Lady Gaga who had one that award? It'd be interesting to see if 1) he'd gone up there and 2) how she'd react. i'd imagine that'd complicate things a bit with their tour even more so than it is now because of all of this... :-/

ACTUALLY if you go close up to her face and see her smile she looks evil.. and scary only my opinion..and off topic as well so I'll leave it at that
