^ Killing oneself is Demode...Have a Diet Coke instead- it is so chic! I bet if one hung outside of Rue Cambon the day or so before the show he would be around- he must be sighted there all the time- yes? B)

I love Karl very much because he is one of the greats living so I do hope that he pays hommage to Michael Jackson as he was also a great artist like Karl. I wonder if they ever met each other, does anyone know?

I hope the hommage could be artisicallly like in an haute couture or RTW womens show. But loved to hear some kind words also.

I do think MJ has influenced fashion. Also how Karl wears a white fingerless glove and in his womens wear etc

<3 love to all

^They *must* have met at some point, but I can't even imagine what it would have been/looked like!

And Borja, my advice for your Paris trip: stick to the Grand Palais. We don't know Karl's normal schedule the week of a show (unfortunately) so we don't know how often and when he would be at Rue Cambon, but chances are he would be at the venue a bunch. And remember to take pictures!

EDIT: Also, remember that Vogue article about his apartment a while back? It said somewhere that tour guides point out the Quai Voltaire apartment when they go past it. It must be one of those Seine tourboats. Do TFS a favor and find out which building it is! :flower:

^ Yes, we need local help- stalking fashion designers in Paris from the US is so difficult!! B)

somehow i dont see karl being a big fan of MJ, no?
i would expect homage like collections from people like John or Tisci (in one of the latest pictures we had seen around of MJ, he was wearing one of those studded givenchy jackets from FW) but i dont think karl...

i'll come back with pics, i promise... of the apartment and hopefully karl too. the latter depends on how big his entourage is and how much can i zoom in with my camera.... the models, the editors, the coke butler, anna, amanda, virginie, the boys... and tiny (yet paradoxically larger than life) karl in the middle! that'd be a hard shoot to take!

From Chanel.com:

Sasha Pivovarova Illustrates For ChanelKarl Lagerfeld asked Sasha Pivovarova to illustrate on a book based on Russian fairy tales in February, and while there is no news on that, she did do some work for the recent restaging of the Chanel Paris-Moscou fashion show in Moscow: "My drawings were inspired by the joy of seeing fairytale characters coming to life in one of the main theatres of Moscow, the city where I was born."

ONE WEEK UNTIL HC!!! :woot: B) On the ad front...

Karl Lagerfeld is getting in touch with his rural side. The designer just returned to Paris from Vermont, where he shot Chanel’s fall-winter campaign with models Heidi Mount and Freja Beha Erichsen. “It was very cold, the sky was blue and the light was stunning. And the people are so nice,” Lagerfeld said Monday night at the opening of the “Court Pomp & Royal Ceremony” exhibition at Versailles. The backdrops for the shoot included a big wooden barn. “I’ve never seen such a beautiful barn in my life,” he enthused. Meanwhile, Lagerfeld marveled at the magnificent embroideries on display at Versailles from royal wardrobes from Germany, Austria, Russia, Sweden and Denmark. He noted they were all realized in France. “And it was not like shipping today. There was no DHL,” he said.

Karl's been busy doing non-Chanel things in the weeks before couture. The Paris premiere of the animated film, Totally Spies, for which he voiced the antagonist Fabu, was yesterday and the designer walked the red carpet with three catsuited women.
