wuthering heights (the witch vocals) she did a newer version with less dramatic vocals that's nice and all but i love her quarky and high pitched

Cloudbusting
Army Dreamers
James And The Cold Gun
Running Up That Hill
Hello Earth
the Wedding List
Wow

anybody crazy about kate's reworked collection that's out?

they have a first listen up on NPR and i have to say,i'm not so taken upon first listen. i honestly don't see why these songs needed new life.....but i can't question kate bush's motivation.....she's well kate bush!! i'll have to give this more of a listen and allow to settle into my soul.

I love the drums in "Big Sky", but yeah, Kate's vocals in "Wuthering Heights" are some of my favorite, full stop.

Will try to check out the reissue, just out of curiousity.

kate releases the first single from the forthcoming '50 words for snow' tomorrow.

i think many kate fans will enjoy as it has such a haunting familiarity of the sensual world. very much a return to roots.

big news that kate will be part of the olympic closing ceremonies tonight. it hasn't been confirmed in what capacity but it's been rumoured that she could perform live or do some sort of pre-recorded bit. but what's been confirmed is that she will contribute an updated, revamped version of 'running up that hill' similar to her reworkings on director's cut.

people are speculating this will be the version with new more mature vocals from kate and a slightly different opening to the original-

I wish we were able to get tickets to see her but it sold out too quickly. So good to see her back!

apparently everybody was in attendance too...from grace jones to bjork to madonna even....to lesser known artists like anna calvi were there. many who have a great deal of debt owed to kate. it's got rave reviews and everyone says she hasn't lost her performance touch at all.

I know I read that too, so exciting!! She is truly one of the greats, what a fearless artist and such an inspiration :heart:
