Kate Moss For TopShop

i agree with that jeff banks guy actually...
about stella and mcqueen too--although those two have improved over recent years...

i mean...does anyone actually believe that kate 'designed' any of it???...

the sad part is that the sheep don't seem to care...
as long as it has kate's name on the label...
sad...really sad...

it might as well say victim on the label....
cause that's who'll be buying this stuff......

it's so dated.. i see this as a bigtime flop both for TS and KM

I agree and was really disappointed it's so dated b/c the big hype about Kate's style is she is supposed to anticipate the trends.:innocent:

When you say flop do you just mean it stinks?...
'Cause you know it's going to sell well.
I can't believe it's hype actually, people planning to sleep outside of TopShop.

Why though?

You can buy it from the 30th April...and then they will keep adding stock.

Also I know the white dress was at £45 and over the last couple of weeks it has now gone up to £60!

This isn't new information, but it's nice to see something official about it for interested U.S. buyers. I kind of wanted some of the pieces at first, but I'm really not interested now that I've seen more pictures. I'm still curious to see what the clothes look like in person and what the quality is like. I also wonder if it'll sell well or not.

Im finding all this name calling of people that want to buy some of the clothes very tedious. I happen to like a couple of the pieces and will probably buy them. I dont consider myself a clone or a sheep just someone that likes a few pieces of clothing. I would have bought them regardless of whether or not Kates name is on the label. I dont style myself after Kate and I probably wouldnt wear the majority of the clothes in the collection.

I find all of those jumping on the "we're soooo over Kate Moss" bandwagon far more sheepish. Its quite pathetic and laughable how desperate people are to stress how much they dislike her. As soon as something or someone is deemed too popular the "fashionistas" go in to attack mode and look down their snooty little nose at everyone else.

Obviously Kate didnt sit there and design these clothes. Never for one moment has topshop or Kate herself imply that she did. Quite the opposite. The whole idea behind this collaboration is to open up Kates wardrobe to the masses and that is exactly what she has done.

I think some people just need to get over themselves.

^ That is sooo true! It's weird how childish and bi**** some members can become.. and when you actually know some of them ARE much older than most of the members on this forum..sad.

From what I have read TopShop is implying that Kate is quite the little designer...
saying she worked day in and out on it.

The overuse of the word "sheep" here is a bit funny.
Anyway, it will sell exceptionally well we all know that. But I don't see how they say she "designed" it, pfft. I can't be bothered to go through all 12 pages, but just how much is she "designing"? What I've seen so far was just a few pieces identical to things she has worn. I like her style, but that's pointless.

Wow, not to be mean, but if you don't know what you're doing regarding styling/wearing you'll look like a cheap tart or a serious serious fashion victim. Those things are so hard to wear!

Survival Guide

As you have probably read, the crowds are already preparing to launch their shopper's assault upon Topshop on the 1st of May, to ensure they bag a piece of Kate Moss Topshop. So we have been working hard to make your shopping experience as safe and enjoyable as possible.
We've got extra security heading down to the stores, and have briefed our staff to look after you on the day. They'll be water and snack bags for the die-hard queue-ers and a colour-coded wristband system (like a festival pass) that will ensure that not too many people will come in all at once.
To make sure that all our customers can enjoy shopping the collection, we have put together some small rules for the launch. Please help us to keep to them.

DO
  • Join the queue and wait to be given your colour-coded wristband with your allocated time slot
  • Come back! New items from Kate Moss Topshop will arrive in store every week!
  • Avoid the baying crowds! Shop from home at TOPSHOP.COM for a truly hassle-free experience
DON'T
  • Take more than 8 garments into the changing room
  • Ask for items to be held in-store
  • Take any photographs or films in the store ? this is strictly prohibited
  • Attempt to grapple, beg or bribe - you know you?ll be embarrassed tomorrow!
read the terms and conditions

thats all quite dramatic! its only a bunch of clothes!

I posted an image and I don't know why it's not showing up anymore:

(same source as my earlier post)

So it's coming out on May 9th. :flower:

But then again, i feel that this is better than both the Viktor & Rolf, and especially M by Madonna. My "celeb for highstreet"-fav is either Stella, or Matthew Williamson.. I would wear some of this stuff, maybe even buy the gold mesh sequin scarf, but that's it. The masses have to get tired of this by soon?

Let us remember that TopShop are in the business of making money and what could be more of a sure fire sell than the world's TOP model choosing things she likes from her own wardrobe and adapting them and re-vamping them (with a little help from the other Kate).

I believe it's for marketing purposes... to create anticipation and add to the buzz...

i hear you - i myself will look at the clothes and buy if anything fits and looks good on me - but many, MANY people are buying *just because* it's kate moss. which is sad. the hype over this collection is unjustified. a bunch of clothes inspired by old clothes - when kate moss herself is a setter of new trends - baffles me. as i've said before - if you want kate's individual look - don't go and buy her made-for-the-masses topshop collection - go and buy yourself some unique vintage stuff instead.

Hear, hear! All topshop are doing is making a quick buck at the expense of young, unknowledgable teenage girls. They think "OHH kate moss I want to be like her so Ill buy all of this" But in fact, being individualwith vitage or mix matched pieces says a great deal more about your style, confidence and plus you will save money

Kate Moss 'cant wait' to see people wearing her clothes

Thursday April 26, 2007

Kate Moss will pose as a real-life mannequin when she launches her new
clothing range.Kate will model her new line in the shop window of Topshop's flagship London store on May 1, the day her range hits the rails.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Kate plans to pose as a mannequin. Her biggest problem will be not laughing. When the red curtain is drawn back and Kate has been seen in some of her items, the doors will open and the outfits will officially go on sale."
Kate recently admitted she is not easy to work with.
The 33-year-old beauty, who received a reported ?3 million (NZ$8m) from the high street chain, revealed she is a perfectionist and always speaks her mind.
She said: "Topshop haven't said no to anything I wanted to do. I've said, 'This isn't good enough', or 'This fabric doesn't feel right, it's too stiff', or 'This leather is too shiny, it needs to be more matt' and they have done it."
Kate - who admits she isn't a natural fashion designer - agreed to work with Topshop because she was fed up of people copying her style.
She said: "I can't sketch and I can't make clothes. I think they kind of copy me sometimes. I mean, I'm sure they do it with a lot of people, but I do notice with me, they do it so quickly and they do it so well. So I said, 'I could give you my stamp, and you could get it direct.' I can't wait to see people wearing it."
