Kate Moss For TopShop

just read the posts from last week and came across laisla's scans from #325 with one saying (about the yellow prom dress:(
"was inspired by a vintage prom dress kate picked up from a flea market.(...)"
(about some pair of sandals:(
"the red and gold lace-up gladiators were inspired by a flea market find in morocco."

....pardon? an original 50s jean dessès dress? at some bloody flea market?
(seriously, IS that possible? do some portobello folk stock pieces of that value?)

don't really know about the sandals - when was her last holiday in morocco? has she ever been there?-, but that line just screams "1967 - the rolling stones w/ girlfriends at a souk in tangier, picking up local footwear" :D of which I'm sure k. herself doesn't find too unpleasant.

well, enough with the constant emphasis on the "lucky market finds"; I find that ever present street cred - approach very disturbing.:ninja: kate does get some stuff from the occasional visits to rellik, but she's about 15% vintage at the max.

Man, ..i wonder if some of the resellers will hire tramps to stand in line with them and get some of the garments...

 what a weird idea Lucy

why should anyone want to resell this trash in the first place? who would like to pay more for this??

There are a lot of pieces in this collection I would buy in a heartbeat (too bad I don't live in England).

-The denim micro mini shorts. I've always wanted a pair of those.
-The vests (I really love the vest with the gown)
-The teeny white tank top
-The black halter dress
-The sequin dress

is anyone here going to the preview thing on Monday evening when the shop shuts at 5.30pm? im deciding whether it will be better/safer/less busy etc etc to go to the monday night or ridiculously early tues morning? kates supposed to be at the monday night one appearing in the window, so maybe ll go monday...but if im so far back in the queue, then i wont see her anyway! :(

I still really wonder how much was Kate's doing and how much was Top Shop

Why is everything a blatant copy of what she herself has already worn? That is so odd, imo. I would've imagined that she or her staff would have put in the effort to get a little creative and fresh. Completely irrelevant.

^ i think it's actually even MORE over rated than M @ H&M

the shopping 'instrucions/rules' posted at preview page made me laugh so hard :D

it's laughable but advisable. i thank them for telling customers in advance not to take photo in the store. we don't wanna break the rules coz you know some security guards can be really MEAN.

i went to my local barneys and they had the kate countdown signs in there....its not as exciting as the hired british Queen's guards i guess (which is what barneys NYC have done this weekend)

its no a blatant copy at ALL!!!!!  There are some things that have obviouslly been inspired but since when have we seen her wear embellished jeans with her tatoo on it??

genius idea i still say.
EVERYTHING around teh world has been inspired by Miss Moss and Topshop as a whole was entirely (almost) inspired by her so it only made sense for both parties. Sir Philip and Kate to team up together
i would have done the same. and it will do tremendous! i am sure

I don't really like here collection..

I do not like it either. I know it is a good idea for TopShop because they will be making a lot of money but every one around the world is going to be wearing her collection...it will be a bunch of Kate clones

I missed some opening times from my last post about this. here are all the uk: store opening times on may 1st.

http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/s...talogId=19551&identifier=ts1 kate moss stores

most are opening at 8 or 9am. I think Im going to go at 8am so I have the rest of the day free.

p.s those planning on travelling to the centre of London for this should keep in mind their will likely be anti capitalist protesters. Its rumoured that they will target this event.

i have to say i think kate moss is great but,,,,,,, she has def not designed this collection, she just copied it??? and its reallly, not great at all, i prefer just the regular topshop range to be honest, i dont think il bother buying anythhing, i,m quite disappointed really.

haha!

Agree utterly! I think I'm the only person living to loathe both Kate Moss & Topshop.

I go to college in York, and Im heading to Topshop on the tuesday morning, so I shall report back with all the gossip. I am not buying though, the only thing I vaguely like is those sunglasses, everything else is overpriced
