Kate Moss For TopShop

laisla - it's certainly cheaper to buy from topshop.com (though the yellow K tshirt is cheaper in the US after the conversion), but most of the items are sold out or not available to begin with. plus it's a pain to have to ship back to the UK if someone needs to return the item bc it doesn't fit or something. ...i am guessing barney's is charging a lot bc 1) they know they can and people will still buy and 2) probably duties/import tax cause the price to go up a bit.

retro - that is a fab dress that you got! show 'n tell when you get the chance!

this is the chanel-inspired one: (pic from katemosstopshop.com)

oh nah didnt see that dress, its def fab...probably in JUNE with the white dress?

This is going to make me late for class, but I thought I should give you guys the Windy City report. I got to Barney's at 9:34 and there was one other girl waiting in the line already. I thought there'd be more people, but there were only five when the store opened. Nonetheless, more people arrived at 10:00, so alot of stuff was sold out when I left

The supply at the Chicago Barney's was very limited, basically if it wasn't on their website it wasn't in the store. This was a huge bummer. They didn't even have any of the vests or the long skirts

In the end though I did get the pansy-dress that I've craved so much. I love it. The fabric is very light and if fits really great. I just hate the fact that I'm going to have to start going to Barneys once a week to check out their Kate Moss collection!

Wow.. i also live in chicago and i figured there would be so many people so i didnt even bother!!!

I see but it is still very cheeky of them.

As we were exiting out of Barneys heading back to work, we were stopped by CNBC for a quick interview. I, of course took the advantage and shamelessly self-promoted nitrolicious.com, but of course they cut that part off haha. I looked awfully tired and I sure hope I didn’t make a fool outta myself! I’ve gotten several emails from friends and readers that saw me on CNBC already, its their site right now on the right hand corner “Video On Demand - Kate Moss Clothes Debut”, take a peek!

here's a few pictures i took...more on nitro:licious...

You should have come! There were so few of us that we all ended up talking and getting along quite well.

I forgot to mention. There were two mothers there buying stuff for their daughters. Both had received calls from their daughters (who lived in NY) requesting that they to go to the Barney's in Chicago, because their daughters went to the Barney's in NY and couldn't get what the wanted!

anyone know if you can get the dress kate wore at barneys, and how much it costs?

Even though I'm not as interested in this collection, I was still interested in taking a look. I live in Chicago too and I thought that it'd be a madhouse... maybe I should have went with you guys!

Congrats on not getting into a rush and getting what you wanted!

For anyone who is still interested, I just got this announcement. Click image for details.

my topshop only had 3 racks of stuff. lots of black skinny jeans, the cropped jeans, the 4 button tank tops (24$) in various colours, the pansy dress, the black scattered sequin tops and the 40$ k t shirts. there was a silk pattered tattoo print dress that was 200$ that looked like a mega ripoff.

i was disapointed there were only 3 different dresses there.

the black jeans ran ridiculously small. i would suggest sizing up at least an inch.

i ended up getting the studded jersey cowl neck dress in a UK size 10 and a pansy dress in UK 12. i might return the pansy dress. it looked cheaper than i expected it to be.

my barneys said they were going to be getting another shipment in a few days.

She didn't pose in a window as she did last week in London, but Kate Moss still managed to cause quite the commotion when she arrived at Barneys New York Co-op last night for cocktails to celebrate her line for Topshop, to be sold at the store.

"Where do I go?" queried Moss to one of her handlers as she was besieged by camera crews, photographers and fans upon entering the 7th floor.

Moss posed for the requisite shots with Topshop's Sir Philip Green as even the jaded fashion editors in attendance unabashedly pulled out their cell phone and digital cameras to capture the fashion icon. Nearby, friend Sadie Frost looked on with bemusement and danced with the DJs.

"I'm here to support my friend," she explained, showing off one of Moss' looks.

Simon Doonan admitted to being a fan of the High Street store himself.

"Whenever I go to London I always go to Topman," he offered. "Over there, men actually care about how they look. It's not like here."

Any stylish men hoping to learn some low-priced wisdom from Moss are in for disappointment.

"I know what makes a man look good, but I'd never be able to design for them," said the model, before being ushered upstairs to the cordoned off 8th floor where she remained for most of the party.

BFF Naomi Campbell joined her later, taking fashionably late to new levels by showing up 15 minutes after the party was supposed to end.

Behind the Seams: Kate Moss for TopShop for Barneys
kate%20shop4.jpg

As you've been reminded, the Kate Moss for TopShop collection hit Barneys New York this morning. Accordingly, our intrepid fashion novice, Bess Levin, made an early morning stop at the store to see about the fuss...

Though I’m not a fan of getting out of bed in the morning, when there’s a promise of the Kate Moss for Top Shop (for Barneys), I can be known to make sacrifices. The early rising thing was also helped by the fact that my apartment much closer to the flagship store than the office, which has always been more of a curse—“look at it, there it is, just stop by, you have time”—but today served me well.
I arrived around quarter to ten, thinking I’d be one of the first few people online, but I’d underestimated Ms. Moss’s star power in America (and several coordinates above Houston and Lafayette). While I waited for the doors to open with 90 of my newest friends, I noticed the window displays: Each had a model in an outfit from the line, wearing Kate Moss masks. Cool or creepy?
Inside—on 7, for those of you making the trip today— Kate’s picture was plastered all over the walls.
There was a dash for dresses—the black one in particular, because it’s the best made—and the gold studded tee (literally, every girl had one in her hand). I’d considered the basic tank, but couldn’t justify it at $55. Hello, Forever 21. The black vests were grabbed immediately; a huge hit. But the big question of the day was the floral dress—cute or wrong?
One girl said she was underwhelmed by the offering, but "I saw the line in English Bazaar," she said. "They made it look so good!"
When I left at 11, there were tons of girls and the pile was dwindling. Several staffers told me the morning was a definite success, and we agree.
But what about the other Barney's? Could you get the line in Chelsea, in Florida, in Los Angeles? Let us know!

.......
when i saw the photos from today of the models in the window with the Kate masks on, my first reaction was that it was a little bit bizarre.

If you go to facehunter and look under the LONDON-boombox, hoxton square bar and kitchen, 05/06/06 post, you will not see just one, but two girls wearing the Kate Moss black cut-out dress

grr I just noticed they have the shorts up on Barney's website now. I'm not very happy with the way they've done this.

I went to the coop here in dc (georgetown) this morning. Waited with about 5 other people. The selection sounds the same as the other coop's, just 2 racks w/ skinny jeans, pansy dress, sequined tanks, and a black cropped jacket. I ended up getting got the pansy dress and a gray sequined tank.
