Kate Moss charges Americans double for her Topshop range
10.05.07
She has already been dubbed Duplikate for apparently copying items from her wardrobe to launch her own fashion range.
But that is not the only reason Kate Moss fans might be seeing double.
For while she has conquered both sides of the Atlantic with shoppers clamouring to own her designs, Miss Moss, 33, has been accused of ripping off her fans after it emerged Americans are paying up to twice as much as Britons for her clothes.

Rip-off? Kate Moss's Topshop range costs double in New York for some items in her fashion range
Despite selling exactly the same clothes in both the U.S. and Britain, the prices for her Topshop range differ by up to £100 per item.
The price difference is set to enrage Americans, who queued for four hours on Wednesday outside the upmarket Barneys store in New York where the collection went on sale.
Some were so desperate to lay their hands on her clothes that they began ripping garments off mannequins as items sold out within one hour of the store opening.
The scene echoed that of a similar launch in London's Oxford Street last week when a 1,000-strong crowd waited for hours to snap up Miss Moss's designs - then were only given 20 minutes to shop once inside.
But their American counterparts are likely to have far lighter purses after their spending spree.
They swarmed inside Barneys to grab tattoo mini dresses for more than £100 each - significantly more than their £60 UK cost - silk waistcoats for £78 compared to £35 in Britain and £123 silk jackets, up from £70.
Similarly, a pansy print dress saw a mark-up from £45 to £60 while cropped skinny jeans were £13 more than in the UK and a chiffon mini dress - worn by Miss Moss at the New York launch - was notched up from £60 to £68.
Topshop has claimed exporting the clothes to the US bumped up the cost - a claim which has raised eyebrows as most of the garments are made overseas in India, China and Mauritius.
Barneys sold an estimated 11,000 garments in its first day of stocking 26 items from the range and was said to be ordering twice as many in its next delivery.
The store's creative director Simon Doonan said: "This is a level of competitive shopping that even New Yorkers have not encountered before."
So extraordinary was the spending spree that he even recommended customers wear "as little as possible to be able to try on loads of things really quickly and get in and out of the dressing room and back on the floor to snatch things before another girl does."
Brittney Hershkowitz, 18, who queued for four hours, said: "Anything she wears, people want."
Jewellery designer Jane Ko, 31, added: "It is more about her style. She has a magic touch - no matter what she wears, it is fabulous."
Her range has failed to impress US fashion critics, however.
The New York Post, who dubbed her Duplikate, complained her range "looks like Kate copying a lot of other people's stuff Kate's worn before."
Miss Moss made a personal appearance at launches on both sides of the Atlantic accompanied by Topshop boss Sir Philip Green.
At the New York event she wore a revealing chiffon dress from her collection - apparently without a bra.
A Topshop spokeswoman said: "It is slightly more expensive in the US because it is being shipped from the UK but it is amazingly good value for Barneys, who determine the pricing."
