Kate Moss For TopShop

i wish i could see her draw her sketches

You won't because she won't!

Who wants to dress like Kate anyway? She is quite dull with her dress sense

Apparently half of the female population!!!!

I'm dreading it turning out just like Kate herself.

Of course it will be like Kate.... that's the point, isn't it? And what would someone expect from Topshop if not this? This is a high-street chain, not a designer brand....

The fact is, that the Kate Moss-mania is well out of hand and blantly ridiculous.... people don't even care what she wears, as long as she is inside it.... :ninja:

This is just about her, being a business-woman and a brand.... she makes a simple business move and capitalises on her immense popoularity...

I don't see why we try to idealise it and expect designer quality and innovation!

It's just more money for the girl and good for her! And if someone does not expect to see a collection that will be based on her wardrobe, I'm sorry, but I don't see the point of expecting this collection anyway....

^^ I know.

Individuals are mesmirised by some individual that does not speak and is not really known for anything other than posing and looking pretty.

Featured on Vogue news...

IT'S the one we've all been waiting for… Kate Moss has unveiled (and modelled), her first ever fashion line – for TopShop – and you can see it in the new issue of Vogue, available to buy from Monday, along with a long-awaited interview with the model who has cleverly avoided being quoted anywhere since early in her career (see the high street shopping advice she shared with Vogue in 1996, below). "I'd talked to lots of people in the business about designing my own thing," says Kate. "Everyone said I should do something but I didn't want to be a designer designer and have to do shows and all of it." But don't think that means she wasn't involved completely in the creation of this soon-to-be-the-biggest-of-them-all brand. "You only have to watch her pick up the items and appraise them to see that not only has she been intimately involved, but that she is very good at this," says editor Alexandra Shulman who conducted the interview and the shoot. "Every outfit she pulls on looks sexy and cool – the poppy-print chiffon minidress, the tie-back tuxedo-waistcoat evening dress, the striped busboy jacket with tiny matching shorts, even the flared satin glam-rock trousers." As well as looking as good as anybody could in her designs (though we'll all be doing our best to emulate her), Kate tells the story of her collaboration with Philip Green (involving helicopter rides and the closure of the Oxford Circus TopShop flagship), describes life with her daughter Lila (involving a meeting with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie), and Pete Doherty – and gives a glimpse of how life is as one of the most rabidly photographed women on the planet. "There are degrees of privacy," she says. "If I'm taking Lila to school, that's not OK. Once I was walking down from The Mercer in New York down the street (because otherwise I don't walk anywhere) and this woman paparazzo who was following me fell over a fire hydrant and her whole tooth went through her lip. I leant over her saying, 'Are you all right?' and she was still talking pictures. I was, 'You know what? You are sick in the head.' And she was really surprised that I had stopped. Like she thought I was going to leave her bleeding?" Buy Vogue, £3.70, from Monday. (March 9 2007, AM)

i wonder why topshop has a jean

called the K jean???? lol ..................

anyways people like her because she has a cute sexy charm about her and she looks good in any damn thing. I think her topshop collection will be somewhat different but extremely likable at the same time. It will be gone in 2 minutes flat. lol.

I am looking forward to seeing it, although just because you dress well doesn't make you a designer...More likely knock offs of things she's bought recently.

Kate Moss brings her inspiration to the high street
By Clare Coulson, Fashion Editor

It's the most highly anticipated, high street fashion launch ever but finally the world will get a taster of Kate Moss's first collection for Topshop next week.
The collection has been shrouded in secrecy since Sir Philip Green, the owner of Topshop's parent company Arcadia,
signed what was rumoured to be a £3 million deal with Moss last autumn.
A key piece in the 80-piece collection is a pretty blue and grey poppy print short silk dress (£45) inspired by Moss's vast collection of vintage dresses. A yellow and black striped busboy jacket (£65), waistcoat (£35) and micro-shorts (£30) are typical of her taste for turning masculine clothes into something incredibly sexy.
There is also a steel grey pinstripe blazer (£65) with matching boy-cut trousers (£45) and a white shirt scrawled with her friend's names that was inspired by Moss's own school shirt.
Moss will appear in one of her designs on the cover of the April edition of Vogue, which is published on Monday.
The magazine has secured the worldwide exclusive of the range, which will be available from May 1.
"It's so weird selling my own clothes," the model tells the editor of Vogue, Alexandra Shulman. "Who'd have believed it?"
There are also pieces such as a tie black tuxedo waistcoat evening dress (£75) that are similar to the glamorous party clothes the model has worn over the years. Skinny jeans - a trend for which Moss was largely responsible - will come in a range of colours (£50). The most expensive piece in the collection is a soft black leather jacket at £200.
Moss may not have actually designed the collection personally (she has taken her own clothes and other vintage finds into a design team for "inspiration") but there is a very clear Kate Moss signature throughout the line. While some pieces may not look extraordinary, Moss's selling power is well-documented. She has a talent for kick-starting fashion trends, popularising everything from a Balenciaga handbag and Diesel denim hotpants to Wellington boots by Hunter. When the model was photographed carrying a £2.99 charity bag from Superdrug last year sales increased 10-fold.
The initial collection will be followed by several drops including a high summer range and autumn collection in September.
The clothes will be sold in sizes six to 16 in 300 branches of Topshop nationwide and on the store's website.

"Yes dahling, it's sell, sell, sell," Kate Moss says of her new apparel collection for Topshop in the April issue of British Vogue, out Monday.

British Vogue unveils the collection in a 10-page, exclusive feature in which Moss also dishes on her inspirations for the collection. "I thought it should be a bit more edgy. Just because you're wearing a pretty dress, it doesn't have to be all pretty-pretty," she says. "I'd just gotten this book of photographs about that club Studio 54 and I wanted it more like that."

Nick Knight shot Moss in six outfits from the 80-piece line. The Kate Moss for Topshop collection launches in stores and online on May 1, with prices ranging from about $23 for a cotton tank to $380 for items such as a leather jacket. The Vogue cover shot features a black lamé minidress, which retails for 55 pounds, or $106.

But the shoot is just the beginning. Moss' fans soon will be able to listen to the model discuss her line of dresses, jackets, smocks and shorts in person. Topshop is planning to broadcast a series of behind-the-scenes podcasts of Moss at work on its Web site later this month.

I'm not sure what to think about this line (especially since there was a ghost designer) but I'm curious to see some reactions once it's out.

The April edition of UK Vogue plopped onto my doorstep this morning with the article in it. It's way too long to post all of it though. And I don't have a scanner! To quote:

'The collection is initially about 80 pieces and is being rolled out in 300 stores across [the UK] and 30 Topshop franchises worldwide. In the flagship stores there will be Kate shops-within-shops designed by Katy Grove who has helped her to do up her reputedly beautiful homes in London and Gloucestershire. Prices will range from £10 for a vest to around £200 for something like a soft black leather jacket although at the time of writing there were plans for a few more expensive - and more exclusive - items as well.

The collection, which is inspired largely by pieces in Kate's own wardrobe and then worked on by Kate, Katy England and the Topshop team, is just what every girl wants in her wardrobe - a smidgeon of boho, a lot of rock-chick, a touch of elegance and several megawatts of sex.

Nobody's pretending that Kate sat down with a sketchbook day after day - with a work schedule that means she's on a plane most weeks, the collection had to be a collaboration. But nothing is going to hit the rails that hasn't got her imprimatur. "I kind of got bits from my closet. We started dragging things out I liked. We looked at stuff and I said, well, what if it was like this or that, and in this fabric or that? It's great. I can say I want this boot, with that heel. There are things I want that I can't find. Like anyone."

"She's incredibly spoilt," proclaims her great friend David Tang. "She's like the neutrons and protons sleeping in the entre of the atom with all these electrons spinning around her. She's in the middle and everybody's going f***ing mad on the periphery pandering to her." Certainly, when Kate's first choice of the blue chiffon dress for [the Vogue] cover didn't work - for reasons that had nothing to do with her - there was a palpable anxiety about who was going to break the news. As it happened Kate, uncomplainingly and completely professionally, slipped into the tiny black halter-neck dress you see on the cover and started the whole Kate Moss performance again.'

Kate finishes the article with her vision for the collection -

"[I didn't want the] clothes to be that pretty, light kind of thing. I thought it should be a bit more edgy. Just because you're wearing a pretty dress it doesn;t have to be all pretty-pretty. I'd just got this book of photographs about that club Studio 54 and I wanted it more like that". So out went the white backgrounds and in came the black, out went the soft lighting and in came the glam Seventies ring-flash, and out went the orange juice and in came the champagne.

wow, fab piccies,

now I wonder what these clothes will actually look like on us lol

There are 8 Topshop stores in my city but I don't think the collection will be available in any of them  I like the one shoulder white dress.

I actually like what I see. Too bad there are no Topshops in the U.S. :(

If the collection's a hit they're bound to expand it surely? I can't believe there isn't one single Topshop in the US! I thought they were everywhere

why is that???
there is no miss selfrdige too....

well, in belgrade we have only one top shop but i love it!!!
it is good that we get all stuff that i like on the topshop's site

I stand corrected; I did a little research and just found out that there is one store in NYC but still, there is only one! :(

I have no idea why that is, but I hope Topshop will expand. I know that you can probably order online but I would love it if they had more stores in the U.S.
