Kate Moss’s highly anticipated fashion line for Topshop isn’t due to hit shops until May 1 but that hasn’t deterred fans – there’s already a huge waiting list and fashion insiders are apparently naming the launch date ‘K Day’.
An insider has revealed “The waiting list is the biggest ever in retail history. Most things will sell out on the first day, but the stock will be quickly replenished. Kate is really excited about the thought of everyone in Britain dressing like her.”
The £3 million deal, signed in September last year, has apparently impressed retail tycoon Sir Phillip Green, who signed Kate. He was over heard telling a pal “I was blown away by the samples. She’s done an amazing job.”
Defending Kate against the controversy surrounded in signing the supermodel, Green argued “Kate doesn’t draw but she was heavily involved in the process. She has worked with the team, bringing in things she found in vintage stores. It’s very her.”
The Kate
Moss Topshop collection will be revealed to fans in the April edition of Vogue
magazine.
Fashion photographer Nick Knight will shoot the campaign, and the cover is set to feature
Moss modeling one of her own backless mini dresses – reportedly the first time a high street
dress has graced the cover of the
magazine.”
The range will be heavy in the look that personifies Kate, “It’s like she’s taken her entire
wardrobe and just said ‘here, copy all my clothes.’ On their own the pieces aren’t necessarily that exciting but the key is how it’s all put together.”
