The dress at the premiere would look lovely on anyone else, but not katie I think...She looks terrible lately, even that amazing Celine knit that Gwyneth also wore, looks bad on her!

I think she looks rather sweet at the premeire, the dress is simple but lovely and her hair and makeup look very pretty, the shoes are a little mumsy though

^exactly - boy oh boy! she never was a fashion inspiration but since she met Tom it has been going downwards constantly - I don't remember her being such a fashion mess when she was still "lovely Joey" from Dawson's creek...she might have had the "good-girl-preppy-school-aka-wanna-be-lady"-thing going on but nowadays she just looks bad! doesn't she have a mirror? with all the money she has access to you might think she could look at least less ridiculous!

I so agree with you, it makes me so frustrated that someone who has such amazing access, always wears the most unflattering and ill fitting clothes. Why, seriously how does that happen?!?!

That is simply not true. You may not remember her being a fashion mess, because there was nothing about her 'fashion' to remember. It was as bland and unappealing as it could've been without being necessarily ugly. Since she's gotten with Tom, like 6 years ago now(?), she's had some AWFUL looks, but she's also had some flawless ones as well. Nothing she did pre-Tom came even close to her current better looks. She may not always get it right, but she experiments a lot (which is more than you can say about her pre-Tom and most other celebrities today) and isn't afraid to go against trends (something even the lauded 'fashionistas' don't always do). I'm not saying you or anyone should love her fashion or style, but saying it's gotten worse since she met Tom has no basis.

Her last premiere look is stunning. The dress is pretty. The hair and makeup are gorgeous. She looks great. I also like the jeans and white sweater combo. She looks fresh.

Well, I am just expressing my opinion just as you are doing (when I say her looks are bad and you mention some as flawless it is obvious that we differ in our opinions)...and I'm sticking to it - I do think that her style has gotten worse and that I liked her look more before she hooked up with Tom although it was quite boring but now it's almost on a daily basis massive fails...e.g.the last post ^ that skirt, those tights with these brogues that don't compliment her legs and then the cape - it's all a mess for me

her last premiere look? why do we have to see the bra? and then those tights again with the heels...and the pendent over a long-sleeved polka dotted high collared dress...no,no,no for me...

katie has no style at all. She wears trendy pieces, but unfortunately for her, they don't work on her.

I find her style to be wildly inconsistent. Sometimes she wears the fugliest stuff and/ or some aspect of the outfit is just "off." But occasionally she will get on a style roll and she will wear three to six outfits that look good. It is so strange. I check the thread regularly just to see: what now then!?
