I agree with you. Katie is not that young. She was reasonably intelligent beforehand. I think whatever sham relationship they have, Katie is a willing participant. I think she soaks up the attention, she loves it when she gets swarmed by the paps. She never got that much attention beforehand. Unfortunately for her I think she's pretty much killed her career. Let's hope Tom pays her well for the next few yrs until her decides to trade her in for a younger more subservient model.

you're kidding right? maybe they are, by some definition, happy but there are some very creapy, publicity hungry antics surrounding this wedding and virtually anyone capable of critical analysis will see that.

if you want to join the relms of the people who belive only what stars and their publicists tell you, then prepare to defend the following positions:

Lohan is a serious actress and is not a party girl
K-Fed is a talented rap artist
Mel Gibson doesn't have an racist bone in his body
Neither does Michael Richards
Britney doesn't lip sync
Paris doesn't tip off the paps where she is to get press
Jen and Vince are just friends
etc.

because all of the above are also claims made by these stars that they want you to believe

I mean do you know of any other celeb couples who have released as many pics of their oh so private and intimate wedding as these 2 did? Suuure it wasn't all for publicity.

They are actors and lousy ones at that but they pretend for a living. Besides Katie's not happy she's certfiable. Tom's just delusional. Besides most celeb couples insist that they are happy and in love right up until they file the divorce papers and we find out that the split months ago and they've been pretending to stick together to promote a movie or some other pet project.

I did hear that Tom gained so much weight that he had to wear a girdle under his wedding suit. Isn't that a turn on?

John knows not to push the crazy talk or force his views on people like Tom does. I have read speculation that John is thinking of breaking from the church. The fact that he wasn't at the wedding does make me wonder if something is going on with him.

i understand what you say but i think people are often afraid of new or different things, like here his religion.
i am catholic myself but i believe in this case( the others you mention are another mather and this is Tom and Kate thread) people invent and are often jealous of new or places that are new i dont like to do conclusions far from pics.
We are not here to judge them just to comment pictures.

Absolutely! You and anyone else that feels positively about Tom and Katie are free and welcome to come here and stick up for them. Those of use that have a negative reaction are free and welcome to state our views as well.

I've bowed out of threads before, just because I couldn't handle the stressfulness of the arguments with other things going on in my life. It's never occured to me that I wasn't allowed to voice my minority opinion, or it wasn't welcome. And I rarely go into the Lindsay Lohan threads because I like her, so many others don't, and it's not hurting me if they want to mock her. I don't want to be exposed to it, so I don't expose myself to it - I don't go onto the threads and demand they all be quiet. Free speech extends all kinds of ways - we're all free to say what we wish. But that doesn't mean everyone has to listen and agree or stop talking if their ideas don't fall into line with what someone else wants.

If you don't agree with those of us that think Tom and Scientology are crazy and scary, that's a wonderful thing. Come here and tell us what you do believe - no one thinks you or other positive posters are crazy or scary. You might even convince some of us. But at the same time, don't tell us what we are and are not allowed to talk about. Unless the moderators change the title of the thread to "Nice talk and praise only for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes" we can continue to say negative things about them.

I didn't used to be afraid of Scientology, and then I did some research into it and it horrifies me. My opinion may turn out to be wrong, but it isn't a groundless or uneducated one.

I really don't think any of us are jealous of Tom and Katie and their Very Public And Well Documented Love. Annoyed, frustrated, skeptical, revolted, but not jealous.

But yes, we cannot know for sure. We can only draw conclusions based on the massive amounts of data they give us. You've drawn the conclusion that they are genuine. I and others have drawn the conclusion that they're a total crock, based on the same material. Different strokes for different folks and all that. Neither one is objectively, inherently, completely right or wrong because none of us actually know them.

But some of us have known Scientologists and seen the way it destroys lives and the misery it spreads, and the mental and physical (sometimes fatal) damage it causes to its followers and their families, and are concerned about the public face of the organization, and feel compelled to present another side.

I was raised Catholic as well. Still am, sort of, though my beliefs have incorporated elements of Judaism, Buddhism, and atheism. Scientology inspires in me the same sort of fear and disgust that the Catholic Church does when they cover up pedophiles for years, give them access to other children, and try to excuse it with "Oh, we're not the only ones, look at how many teachers/coaches/ministers/doctors molest!" or "If the person claiming to have been abused was 11 or over, it's not pedophilia, it's ebophilia, the priests are gay, not pedos, it's all homosexuality's fault! And it's not happening anyway, and if it did, it's no big deal, get over it!"

And I'm cautious when discussing things like Xenu, because I've been told that we worship Mary and the Saints and we don't. So I try to learn about religions from texts written by that particular religion. I take what Southern Baptists say about the Catholics with a grain of salt, and I wouldn't trust the Catholics to tell me what Wiccans believe. But almost all of my Scientology knowledge comes from their own writings and statements and rules. And people who are still involved in it, desperate and needing more and more money to please them, and severing all ties with the Supressives in their new lives.

We are not here to judge them just to comment pictures.

I have nothing to say about the fact that they love each other or not... I hate Tom, but I like Kathy, I think she's kinda cute And I don't know what they tell each other when when their door is close.

Yes yes yes....I don't understand why people say "oh but they're gazing into each other's eyes" "they look so in love". They're putting on a frigging show! There are photos of pictures of people kissing and embracing 2 days before they announce their divorce. It's so superficial and I say this about my favorite celeb couples.
